In the very front of Kyoto station, there stands the famous Kyoto Tower, which looks like a giant candle stick. Under the tower is a hotel, but this Kyoto Tower Hotel Annex is an annex and is in a few minute-walk distance. The room is not large but good enough to have a good night rest. The location is very convenient within 5 minute-walk from Kyoto station. By the way, I stayed at this hotel during New Year holidays, so their breakfast might be different from usual, but their breakfast was unique and good and I liked it.

Stayed 3 nights and quite comfortable. The only down side is the washing and dry machine quite dirty inside, your cloth will stick with those dirt come out from the machine, obviously they didn’t clean it for long time. No provide drinking water as well, so need spend extra for buy unlike our hotel at Tokyo, provided machine at ground floor for hot water with ice. But generally the location is good. Bed is comfortable and service is good.

The hotel was so close to the station, about a 5-7 minute walk, hotel staff will try their best to help you if you're an English speaker and the rooms aren't big enough if you are 2 travellers with large suitcases. Overall, the stay was pleasant, but the walls are thin. Just hope you aren't next to someone who jumps on beds or bangs their suitcases against the wall for whatever reason. Honestly, I would love to stay again!

The single best coworking place I found. You don't need to be in the hotel: you pay 1600 yen, you get the coworking space for the whole day with all the drinks and coffee you want. You're free to do all your meetings there. You're free to leave your stuff with them as well if you go outside to eat or visit. It's right next to the station, too. Insanely cheap for what it is. Great!

One of my least fav places to stay during my trip through Japan. We were given a room on the top floor with a tiny escape balcony. The slanted ceiling and curtain to this balcony made it feel like we were in someone’s attic. The wallpaper was peeling off with dirt marks in the corners and around the skirting. The bathroom wreaked of dampness (it smelt before we got there) which permeated the room 24/7 due to its small size. The bathroom mixer tap would turn off on its own unless I turned it on full blast which then flooded the sink as it couldn’t drain fast enough. What topped it off, one side of the bed (towards the outside) was collapsing so my partner was sliding off the mattress. Time for a reno. Other than that, the positives include the friendly helpful staff and free amenities for the taking in the lobby. Unfortunately I don’t recommend this hotel.
