Don’t be fooled by the positive reviews. This place is basically a Motel 6, maybe even worse? The staff are unwelcoming and unhelpful. You’d think they’d see a young tiny woman (me) struggling carrying her large suitcase up the millions of stairs and at least ask if I needed help! Nope!! Also, the rooms are horrendous. They smell old and musty. Ants are crawling on the floor. The bed is a hard and uncomfortable prison cot with two thin pillows and one paper thin sheet. You can hear everything through the walls, especially when other rooms take showers. And last but certainly not least, the various locks on all the doors and windows in addition to the security cameras EVERYWHERE made this place seem sketchy. Oh, and they claim it’s 15 minutes walk from the town. It’s actually 29 minutes, according to google maps. The only positive is that it’s 1000 steps above the famous Arienzo Beach Club, which is a vibe and a lot of fun to do one day.

Great views of the ocean! Rooms are comfortable and they have breakfast every morning. Very accommodating; they sent out postcards for us and ordered a taxi for us as well! I would recommend

Excellent location, nice view. Unfortunately it is very overpriced though this is par for the course in Positano. The rooms are pretty small (not much room for your luggage or cosmetics in the bathroom) but clean. We liked the decor and the rooms seemed to have been recently refurbished but they are not very dark. You can hear your neighbours very well (so maybe bring some earplugs). The breakfast is okay but monotonous. Adding some more fruits (ie. grapes, watermelon) and some proper cheese would do much to alleviate this. The staff was friendly enough but not very warm. They did stay up for us so we could check in after midnight which we appreciated.

La Maliosa is a charming and beautifully landscaped Bed & Breakfast just outside the town of Positano. La Maliosa has stunningly gorgeous views, and a friendly staff that is eager to please. The main inkeeper, Anna, is very sweet and accommodating. The drawbacks are small room/bathroom (it is a B&B and not an American-style hotel) and lack of amenities on the grounds. The main drawback is the 1 km distance from town. There are no sidewalks so pedestrians are forced to walk on a winding road with poor visibility, or take a taxi, none of which have meters but charge exorbitant and changing prices from €25 to €50 to drive that 1Km distance. Other than the challenges to get to and from town, La Maliosa and the staff madre our stay with them a quite lovely visit.

If you like paper-thin walls, where you can hear everything in the next room, or toilet for that matter, then this place is for you. The proprietor Felix, has a gruff, even unwelcoming demenor. The one Kilometer walk into town, is taking your life in your hands, or rather the hands of the crazed drivers you have to leap out of the road to avoid. Forget about attempting to walk back in the dark, at that time you need to pay €30 for the 3 minute drive back to your hotel. Nothing like getting ripped off when they know they have you over a barrel. Overall, I would not recommend this place, although the views were nice, but that's everywhere in Positano.
