This is a budget motel. To begin on the positive. The staff is friendly and helpful. The layout of the hotel with an outdoor courtyard has nice potential but it needs some new outdoor furniture. A warm jacuzzi would be nice. The rooms have nice spacing but the bathrooms need some repair. What this hotel could use most is a good deep clean. Our halls and the stairs leading to the lobby were not vacuumed at all during our 4 night stay. Our room looked like it had a very rushed cleaning job. The sheets and towels were clean. The location is accessible to the East side of Saguaro NP ( less then 15 miles and less than 10 for a couple of great hikes). It is also easy to get downtown to the quaint old Tuscon district. However, being in Broadway and near the mall and several big box stores also places you amidst many of Tuscon’s homeless population. We were never bothered and did walk to many places during the day. There are several good restaurants nearby. If the place could get a good deep clean, some simple repairs, and give some attention to the outdoor and pool area it has potential.

Service was great. Cheerful, helpful, to the point. The rooms could have been better. In specific the bathrooms. The tube had that black circle around, the water drain holder came off with just a tinny touch. Toilet paper was not changed when i arrived. Thankfully they had a new one my the sink, automatically threw the old one. One of the towels had a tinny but visible red stain. If it wouldn't had been for the rest room, i would book her again. But no, that had to be the nastiest shower I've ever taken. Location was great, close to the mall, other stores, food areas.

I left a credit card to hold my room, not knowing what time we would arrive. I called to let them know it would be after 4 am. arrival. When we got there, about 5:30 am, the man at the front desk told us when we had not arrived by midnight, they gave our room away, and they were totally booked. When he finally found a room for us, the room appeared clean. The pillows had a funky smell like old body odor, which had been washed and didn't come clean. The room was not handicap accessible leaving me limited access. Very disappointed.

Checkin clerk was rude and condescending. The room’s lights were not working, had a dirty towel, and the door deadbolt was sticking and had to push it in with my finger for the door to lock. Manager stated it was meant to work that way as a safety precaution. Would not admit it was faulty. I did not feel welcomed and was told I would have to leave the property if I would not accept the rooms they were offering. The worst La Quinta experience ever. I will not go back again and I do not recommend. There are definitely some sketchy guests who seem to live at the property. I did not feel safe here. I wish I would have read the reviews. Very disappointed that La Quinta has gone downhill like this.
