Old, but good hotel with central heating system, next to the grocery shop "Penny". Location - very bad though. 12-15 minutes walk to the metro (so called S-Bahn). The surrounding district is settled by Turkish people, so, you will see there many Turkish cafes and few Döner places.

Me and my family are often staying at the Nuremberg and Frankfurt and they're very okay, this one in Hamburg was unfortunately totally worthless. The location is far our of any habitable and or interesting area, which is okay if you're just passing through. But first the reservation was messed up (they didn't booked for my stepson, only for the two adults) for which the staff blamed Expedia (somehow that never happens normally). The room we got was clearly smoked in, smelled horrible, the shower door doesn't close which causes a flooding in the shower/bathroom. The parking facilities are shabby and not very safe. But to top it off they literally closed the hotel bar in front of our noses while we were actually looking for a seat... Wow.... On checkout it turned out the staff hadn't given us the right parking instructions so I got a ticket (which upon complaining, the morning staff shift agreed to solve)... Just skip this one and find another Leonardo Hotel. This one isn't worth the hassle...

Very very friendly staff. Front desk staff was excellent and would go above and beyond to give excellent service. The hotel is very clean and the facilities in the room seem newly renovated, but the hotel itself is a bit dated in some areas. Parking is a little chaotic and there could be an issue with availability, but we arrived earlier and this was a plus since we came in a van. The restaurant was great, but the service was a tad slower since it was only one employee and quite a few guests. The menu doesn’t have all the ingredients in a particular dish, so important to specify you’d like sauces on the side etc. if you’re picky. I’d say the prices were high/average, but very reasonable considering the location. We came for the night to join a cruise, so the location works for us, but I’m not sure this would be a tourist location. The train is close, but the neighborhood doesn’t seem very inviting for someone looking to go out locally.
