Lighthouse by Brown Hotels

Everything in this hotel is just loud. From the music in the elevators to the music in the hallways to the badly isolated windows - I can hear everything. It’s just not relaxing. The staff is mostly (extremely) unmotivated and unfriendly, no smile to be detected (but Oren was great). I would not return or recommend it, as I don’t feel I can relax or sleep well here, even though I was able to change my room from 12th floor (as there was a baby crying all night in the room next to mine). Now the new room is exactly above the breakfast area, where preparation seems to start at 7am. This is not what I expect from a holiday. One more thing: the whole area around the hotel is a construction. I get that this is not the hotels fault, but as a suggestion: train your staff to make the guests feel at least the most welcome inside the hotel. A smile or a hello don’t cost anything. Steffen

BIG DISAPPOINTMENT The check-in process was a disaster. We asked for a twin room and they gave us a double room. When we went down to alert about the error, the person who attended us was rude, with zero intention of helping and lied to us on several occasions. First she suggested that we share the bed, as there were no more rooms available. Given our refusal, he questioned whether they were one bed and not two together, and we had to go up to take photos to prove it. Despite having told us that there were no more rooms, we saw in Booking that they offered and a couple next to us booked a room at that same moment. Finally, she offered us a double room, but with separable beds (despite having told us there were none). We had to separate the beds ourselves, and ask for sheets and blankets, and do everything ourselves, and we were told that the next day we would be relocated to another room. All this at 2 in the morning, and with a lobby that was full of people coming and going with drinks that came from the nightclub they share a building with, and alarms ringing all the time. The initial image was terrible, it looked like a cheap motel. Finally, they told us we could stay in that room. Beyond the unpleasant check-in experience, in the three nights we spent at the hotel we also had other “surprises” such as the fact that our room was not made even though we had requested it and alerted to housekeeping or that the beach towel service that offer, was not available one of the days. The hotel was very well located, close to the leisure area and city center and a 5-minute walk from the beach. The rooms and toilet are good, but very poorly maintained (curtains with holes, scratched floor, loose cables...). In conclusion, it has been a disappointing experience and I would not repeat it. It's a shame, because with better attention and service as well as better maintenance it could be an excellent hotel.
