A nice stay in walking distance of good coffee and food. Very quiet despite being on a main road. If I had more budget, I would have stayed in the city center, but this is a good alternative. We booked the 4 pax (suite C) and it was satisfactory. A warning, though; the second bedroom sits in a thoroughfare between the master bedroom and bathroom/kitchen. Also, the marble statue standing outside the garden doors gives the place a ‘haunted mansion’ vibe. Regardless, I don’t regret staying at Little Garden Donatello.

My parents and I stayed for three nights in this characteristic historic residence, occupying the city view apartment. Before reaching Florence, we agreed with Mr. Cencetti the time of our arrival. Everything went well, we immediately managed to reach the structure and Mr. Cencetti welcomed us with great courtesy, helping us with our luggage, showing us the room in its characteristics and personally accompanying us to the garage owned by the family which we had booked together with the room. The apartment consists of three rooms plus the bathroom, all completely renovated. The rooms are truly characteristic, furnished down to the smallest detail and featuring typical Florentine period furnishings. The master bedroom is wonderful with an ornate coffered ceiling and a decorative fireplace that still retains the family coat of arms. The photos do not do justice to the beauty of these environments. Even though the bedroom overlooks a very busy avenue, the soundproof windows and new mattresses guaranteed undisturbed rest. The kitchen is well-stocked, even if you want there is a small ironing board and an iron. Due to bad weather we were unable to enjoy the garden which gives its name to the structure. A very well-kept and peaceful internal courtyard. We are sure to return because the perfect stay ensured an enjoyable stay. The distance from the central areas is only 15 minutes on foot. I advise those arriving by car to book the Cencetti family car park to avoid wasting time and excessive expenses.
