Stayed here twice over my holiday, and both times the staff were super accommodating and friendly. Loved the rooms, nice sitting space to enjoy tea and relax, and super large TV with a comfortable bed. Nice shower. Clean rooms and common areas. Nice that checkout is noon. Great buffet breakfast too! Would definitely stay here again.

Facilities (in the lobby) and team were lovely during my stay and the style of the hotel overall is very unique and inspiring. Completely sets it apart from other boring hotels. Sadly the bed was the main letdown, I enjoy a firm bed, but the mattress here was completely unforgiving and felt like it had no flex in it whatsoever, a real let down as the rest of the room was great.

On 16/12/2023 at around 19.30pm, had dinner at mama shelter. Food was delicious but choices of wine limited, we had to contend ourselves with one of their house wines as nearly all what was listed was not available. After the meal we were contemplating on either having a dessert or coffee when a manager came up to us and impolitely asked us to hurry up as they were expecting other customers in the next 20 minutes in an empty restaurant!!!!!...we deliberately stayed longer to see if people were coming but did not see anyone.. we even complained to the nice lady that was serving us but she couldn't do anything as she said"its one of the managers ' its a shame as this is a local spot and would have been more vibrant and customers service focused if their attitude towards customers can be improved.

Bar review. Oh dear. Oh dear oh dear oh dear. Been coming here on and off since it opened. Service ain't what it was. We were sat in a far corner table. Well it really was Siberia. Getting attention was quite tortuous. After a 20 min wait to order our 3rd round we gave up. And that included me going up and trying to order from the bar. This confused the barman no end. And still no one turned up to take our order. So we paid up. On the way out I did point out why we were leaving. One guy was apologetic, his colleague decided to argue the toss asked where were sat and said, We don't offer table service there. Yes. You. Do. Nobody around us was ordering from the bar. If you were prepared to wait... and wait... you got served. Slow service is one thing telling your patrons they are wrong is a whole other level of bad service.

I was looking forward to our Team Lunch at Mama’s Shelter Restaurant, but we were all disappointed. Our drinks arrived late and the restaurant wasn’t busy (that’s when you can understand the wait) and I saw 4 staff having a chat by the Bar. We ordered 2 Stakes and Lamp Starters and everything arrived together after over 30 minutes and food was cold and my potatoes were burned (but I got chips as a replacement) The meat was cooked nicely but that is the only good thing about our Meal. It is a shame because it is a local restaurant in our business.
