Marrakesh Apartments

Stayed here with my partner for just over a week and we enjoyed our stay. The location is pretty good, close to Florida Gardens tram stop and just a walk to the beach. There are a few spots to eat nearby such as Shooey’s, O’Bagel and a noodle box and there is a shell and coles express nearby as well. The place overall isn’t huge but is big enough. The lady at the reception was very friendly however the man at the after hours service was quite rude and sarcastic. The lobby smelt very nice and was clean. The place looks rustic and older however the rooms are very modern. Our room was decent for what we paid and accommodated us perfectly, it had an air conditioner in the lounge and a large fan in the bedroom for the warm nights. The view from our room was really nice as well. The kitchen is well stocked with all the utensils you need for cooking and serving and there is a dishwasher as well. The apartments are also supplied with a hairdryer and a laundry setup. The complex is very quiet and I probably wouldn’t recommend it for those with children as there are more entertaining complexes nearby however for what you pay, it is worth the money. There is a cafe downstairs which serves very healthy options and there is an outdoor pool and a spa which was out of order, as well as an indoor pool and spa, showers/change room, gym and sauna. The area was also pretty quiet as well. Some notes about staying here are: - The air vents were very dusty - The beds are on wheels and moved very easily which made it difficult to lay down properly without moving far to one side - The beds had some yellow stains on them - There are a few rules in place such as you must clean up after yourself and if it takes longer than 20 minutes for the cleaners to clean your room you will be charged. - If you leave your belongings behind you will be charged, and you can’t have the cooler on anything below 21 degrees I believe. - There are also no ball games allowed in the pool so again, wouldn’t recommend for those with children. - You only get supplied with 3 toilet paper rolls and if you run out you are expected to supply them yourself or they will cost $1 per roll at the front desk. - There is a luggage scale at the front reception to use however it costs money. - Walls are pretty thin so you can hear your neighbours and their television - The hallways are very hot and stuffy - There are bin chutes near the elevators on the outdoor part. Overall this place wasn’t too bad and we enjoyed our stay here.

We stayed for 10 nights in a superior 2br unit from 3rd~13th Jan 2023. I felt it important to share a review as I relied very heavily on reviews when booking this holiday. We are a family of 5, and the 2br was ideal. Full kitchen with dishwasher, laundry with washing machine and dryer (so good with kids!!). I couldn’t fault the room. Very roomy for a 10 night stay. The reviews about the ‘smell’ in the reception really were a flag for me, yes I could smell a perfume in the reception area, but certainly nothing I would complain about. The cafe - Rudy’s on the ground floor, is absolutely amazing. The most lovely staff, and such a luxury for a morning coffee & more!! The location was perfect, a couple of blocks to the beach. Easy walk for our 6 yr old, 10 yr old & 13 yr old. The boardwalk is so close. Turn left to Surfers, and turn right to Broadbeach. It’s literally perfect. Car park has easy access - we got a hire car for a week too which was perfect for the theme parks. Pool was so quiet and clean. A luxury to have an indoor pool for those rainy tropical days too. We will be back next time we visit. Thank you Marrakesh!!
