The exterior must be the most magnificent looking hotel I’ve ever stayed in. Room inside is modern and clean. Amazing location, right off to the Mall. Fantastic service, especially the Indian lady at reception (sorry I don’t remember your name). Breakfast was decent, nothing special. Only complaint would be the wifi speed. Actually there’s no wifi connection to my room (level 9) at all. Had to buy extra data plan during 5 nights there to use in the room.

Impeccably clean, excellent location - right at the heart of rundell mall and a short walk to the Adelaide markets. Staff are nice. The rooms are very comfortable and have a nice heritage/classic look, rooms are also very spacious. I love the bathroom. Cot was set up for my baby. We got a free minibar !

The best way to describe the Mayfair is mutton dressed as lamb, it appears nice due to the decor, however staying there you’ll quickly realise how sub par and below standard the hotel is. The rooms look nice, but there’s no natural light, the windows face another building, the location is right near bars and clubs, which makes sleeping before 3am extremely difficult, the mini bar is poorly stocked and the staff were extremely unhelpful and flat out rude on checkout when the real issues arose. The hotel will charge your card the total fee plus the bond for the room and tell you the bond is refundable on checkout. When asked how the bond would be refunded, they stated via bank t/f in 5-10 business days. However what they fail to disclose is that they withhold the total amount of the room plus bond and then withdraw the amount of the room, essentially charging you twice until the withheld amount is refunded over a week after being charged. I spoke with the bank who confidently assured me that this was a practise conducted by the merchant and if I wanted to get my refund earlier, The Mayfair would be required to submit a removal of card authorisation. When I called The Mayfair and asked them to do this they refused to do so, stating it was against their policy and it was the banks fault for withholding my funds, even when I assured them that I had spoken to the bank and that was not the case. I was again told I had no reason to be upset, that I didn’t understand and they refused to submit a removal of authorisation. The staff were extremely unhelpful, rude and extremely unprofessional. I would strongly recommend avoiding this hotel at all costs and I would never stay there again.

We stayed 3 nights. We wouldn’t have stayed 1 if we could have got our money back. A great location that is central to everything but the hotel is “Mutton dressed as Lamb”. Massively overpriced accommodation for what it offers. Cost us $1800 for 3nights including breakfast . The rooms are small and dark by luxury standards . The windows were filthy dirty and depressing. The mini bar was minimal and never refreshed. The buffet breakfast is “ok” but lacking finesse. Just don’t waste your money here there is dramatically better value elsewhere in Adelaide.
