Friendly and helpful staff. Decent shared kitchen/ lounge areas Initially in 4 bedded female dorm which was nice and clean. Lockers provided safe storage space. Nice shared bathroom, seems relatively new Changed to private room just to have my own space. Room was disgusting!! Looks like carpet hasn't been vacuumed in a long time. Walls very dirty and could use with a wipe down. Shared female bathroom was disgusting! Dirty and old looking. Lots of mould and looks like no deep cleaning done in the last decade Beds were comfortable enough and decent air conditioning

Central location, budget priced. Consequently very busy, the place is packed, all facilities heavily used. Lots of interesting people to meet. Staff are very busy with so much space to & so many people to provide for. Building is well worn, with many maintenance deficits, even horribly squeaky door hinges. Despite prior replies to reviews by management, the cleaning routine isn't as thorough or comprehensive as they claim it is. No recycling facilities, everything goes in general waste bins.

A fine hostel. The staff is very kind and friendly. They were also very helpful. The rooms itself are fine, your average hostel bunkbeds. Shower facilities were not really up to standard. It was ok, but not very pleasant upon first sight. The social sphere was very nice though. Always people hanging around, however this sometimes meant the noise level at night was quite excessive. Location is excellent, lots of things nearby in terms of shops, stores and restaurants. Public transport (tram and train) also within close walking distance.

As soon as we walked in there seemed to be people smashing the table and almost having a fight. Went to the desk and wasn’t explained how to use the check in app. Once we got into the room (didn’t look how advertised) we found 2 of the people (4 bed room) actually live in that room and work at the hostel and had to be up in the mornings at 3am and 5am. One of the people living in the room at this place seemed to have no care for the people who he was sharing the room with him (i had to move his scooter and skateboard to get into my locker). Tried to go to the toilet but the whole toilet was out of service for our floor so I had to go to the next level to use it. Which meant about 3 showers between 2 floors. Also in the communal area there was broken mattresses and paint supplies sitting there which is a nasty look. Me and my girlfriend left the room within the next 2 hours and found an airbnb for roughly the same price with an unbelievable view of Melbourne. After travelling the whole of the east coast, this hostel takes the crown for the grimmest.
