The location of hotel was very strategic. Nice design of the hotel lobby and room layout. Unfortunately the quality of room very bad. The sound proofing very bad. Can heard the sound coming from next room. Requested change room the next day. Given another room on second floor, but the room even worse. The bathroom basin have leakage at bottom. Cause the whole bathroom is wet. No cold water supply at the basin also. The water basin drainage also very bad. There no convenience store at walking distance also

Staying one night in this hotel, i would say its worth the price due to its location (lack of traffic jam/less traffic noise), ample free parking available with close proximity to ipoh city center and friendly front desk. The room was great, hot water available with good pressure, my only suggestions was to improve the cleanliness of the bed as there was a dust and at certain area in the room. Nonetheless a great short stay

Hotel was nice and simple. Not that quite to rest. Noise along the corridors and next room can be heard. Bathroom was moldy and needs to be cleaned atleast otherwise location was easy to locate. Plenty of parking.

I used to frequent this place extensively during my travels to Ipoh before the COVID era. Returning after many years, I was eager to relive the positive experiences. However, this time, my stay was far from enjoyable. I'm disappointed to report issues such as a moldy bathroom, stagnant water in the bathroom (they could easily temporarily fix this by replacing the bidet hose), delayed cooling of the air conditioner, unpleasant bathroom odors, and terrible soundproofing. While I empathize with the challenges hotels face post COVID, my recent experience was not satisfactory. I would recommend considering spending a bit more elsewhere for a more pleasant stay. Other than that, service was pretty great, everyone was helpful and friendly :)

Even a low cost hotel of RM80 per night will provide toothbrush and toothpaste. Why not being provided here? 16th November 2023. Not a single toothbrush and toothpaste given in room. I have a tender interview for project next morning and this is the service rendered by Merton Hotel. Asked for partial refund for not giving toothbrush and toothpaste but front desk mentioned "WHOLE HOTEL GUESTS TONIGHT DO NOT HAVE TOOTHBRUSH AND TOOTHPASTE, I CANT HELP YOU" Asked for hotel owner number and called, no one answer. This hotel service is [-10 / 0]. Never visit here, neither for work or vacation. Very disappointing for the RM100++ paid per night.
