The rooms are for the most part clean but a bit run down. There's quite a bit of noise from the aircon units and loud bangs when neighboring doors slam shut. That said, this is my go-to hotel when in Beijing and having spend well over 50 nights here the last year, I tend to come back every month for the selection of different restaurants in the immediate vicinity. The gym is average, but for some reason it is heated to approximately 27-28 degrees Celsius, so sessions tend to be short, but very, very sweaty. The breakfast buffet is OK, with reasonable large selections of foods, suitable for both eastern and western taste buds, but the bread section could do with some fresh bread rather than the hard, dry breads served. The staff is usually friendly and speak English reasonable well, or if they don't they'll call someone who can. I keep coming back to Metropark Lido Hotel as it suites my personal needs. If you're looking for a place to retreat after a day at work, having both Chinese and international cuisine at your doorstep, this is a good place to stay, but if you're looking for luxury and pampering, this is not for you.

Relatively clean hotel, close to enough local shops. Service was good, could always find at least one English speaking person working there which was helpful. Room air conditioners struggle to keep up with the Beijing heat. They provide slippers which should be worn at all times as the carpets will leave the bottoms of your feet quite black and dirty. The pool & gym were good as well. Note that you have to wear a swimcap in the pool and they charge for it, so bring one if you already have.

Difficult to believe this hotel still gets 3.8. The hotel needs to be gut renovated. The entire room I stayed at smells like smoke and general uncleanliness. The employees try to be friendly, but not everyone speaks English and interactions can become frustrating quickly. Between a night on the streets and this, I would stay here but if I had any other option I would look elsewhere.

I enjoyed my stay very much. The rooms that are one class higher than the standard room are excellent and very cheap compared to a standard European prize. WLAN works fine in every room since you have your own hotspot. The fitness studio seemed to be under construction because the workout machines where located in a substitute room (a standard apartment room). At least I hope it was just a substitute and not the ordinary gym ^^. A minus goes to the breakfast buffet which is not what a European stomach might want to have for breakfast. But it is still "ok". You will find something but not as much as in a western Hotel or better 4 star hotels in China. If you need to communicate with the staff it can be a little difficult since they hardly understand English. But normally they can call for someone that understands you.
