The hotel is suberb! Clean, modern, nice and quiet and has everything you need. Cleaning service once a week is enough and was very attentive in noticing that I needed new towels and more trash bags without saying anything. Self check-in and check-out is very convenient, too, and worked perfectly. Although there was always someone at the reception, so just in case, you’ll be helped! The only thing I would improve is to put a microwave in every room with a kitchen.

A great place to stay at with family. We spent a week here and thoroughly enjoyed our time. The room was clean and spacious and the staff at the check-in counter were friendly and helpful. It certainly had a lot of charm you'll find in the rest of Kyoto; modern but beautifully traditional at the same time. It's in a quiet part of Kyoto but not far from the train line or local shops and the nearby streets are nice to stroll of an evening. I'd certainly recommend staying here and I'm sure I'll be back again too.

While we liked the room and facilities, we had a somewhat irritating problem with climate control. With no way to open the windows, the room got stuffy and we had to use air conditioner. It would be cool if you had some tea bags or coffee drips that can be used in the room. Also as a side note — entering the room was a bit tedious, as I had to look up my note with the password all the time. I'd appreciate a bit shorter password that can be memorized (maybe 5 digits max), or using key card for convenience.

This was the nicest place I stayed at in all of Japan and I regret not staying longer! This check in and out process here is all done on the phone with no need for a front desk but when I needed help, the lady at the front was so kind and she helped me do the check in online with her limited English! She was the sweetest lady ever and she put up with my terrible Japanese ! God bless her !!!! It’s situated in a neighborhood and we really felt like we lived in Kyoto with our walk back and strolling down a neighborhood alley instead of next to a busy street and high rise buildings! Lady at the front desk is there for cooking in the back small things you can purchase, she cleans the front relaxing lobby. Really just the most kind lady ever, but I watched her have to deal with rude guests trying to speak to her in English and then getting frustrated with her for not understanding them - that’s rude, tourists are so privileged to expect someone, from an entirely different country with a different language, from them to understand them! LEARN A LITTLE BIT OF JAPANESE AND HELP YOURSELVES INSTEAD OF BEING RUDE TOURISTS!!!! Moving on - She upgraded my husband and I for our honeymoon and it was seriously the nicest nicest NICEST place I think I’ve probably EVER stayed at !!!!!!!!! I love this place !!!!! The atmosphere is just so homey, and I think that’s just what I prefer better than the big places with crazy slow elevators that take 15+++ minutes to arrive at your floor ! I can’t wait to come back and stay again and do not believe ANY of the one star reviews ! They’re so on top of it here regardless of the zero interaction and high tech check in and out process !

Clean, well thought out and convenient hotel. There is a large waiting area with tables, a vending machine, luggage storage and wifi for when you arrive prior to check in. There are great restaurants and cafes nearby, as well as a convenience store. The staff were friendly and helpful. The laundry is 24 hr and free! You can buy soap at the front or use your own from a supermarket down the street. The lights in the room were a little dim and the shower was tricky to figure out. Also, you need a smartphone to navigate the check in and check out, and wallet apps to buy laundry detergent. But all in all, great value and a great stay!
