At Mitra downtown hotel we had a good stay & will visit again this hotel very cozy & cool place to stay Hakan was very helpful,friendly & nice to talk with also ahmed from reception was amazing im so glad that i met this young gentleman he became my tour guide & without ahmed I felt like walking in the dark I thank ahmed so much for also tagging along with me & showing me the shopping centre malls & taksim it was my first time in istanbul & its very daunting catching metro especially when there is so many people around & hot humid weather doesn't help Mitra downtown hotel excellent perfect location 3 min walk from the grand bazaar & beyazit tram lots of food in this street 15 min to blue mosque & walking distance to the beach

At Mitra downtown hotel We had a good stay although climbing the narrow stairs to the hotel was a tough task. But our luggage was delivered by the staff. We were a group of 8 people for which we booked 3 rooms. However, when we got there, we were told that only two rooms were available. We only had to stay for one night so we accepted that otherwise we would have to change our accommodation decision. After some reduction in price we agreed to stay there. As we forgot our coat at previous hotel, Haqan was very helpful, he received our parcel on our request. Breakfast could have been better. We liked Pancakes but fruits and vegetables were not fresh. If you don’t mind narrow hotel stairs, the rooms are spacious and the staff is helpful.

Staff and service was good, no complaints there. The room was very suffocating, me and my wife both fell sick due to its poor hygiene (dust, smoke, no fresh air). The building is very old, infact the whole area is very old, hence the buildings are not as per standards, no elevator, congestion, steep sloped roads, no taxi service to this area. We paid for nine nights but only stayed for 6 and didn't get a refund for the remaining days, I'd not recommend staying anywhere in the whole area. Asian side is better and you could get a much better hotel with the same amount of money, not to mention better air quality and less congestion and if you're lucky you could be near to sea.
