The perks are that it is a very clean room with all the basics. Staff are nice, coffee is good and the nearby complex on the same block has lots of interesting places to eat and drink and experience. The cons are that there is no character in any of the rooms and the location of the hotel feels really out of the way. I’d prefer to book somewhere closer to the main subway lines where you didn’t have to spend so much time travelling which I’ll do so next time. But the value of cost each night is amazing. If you’re spending a while in Tokyo like we did (10 days) you won’t find better priced accomodation for what it is.

I stayed in November for two nights. The rooms are little minimalist but the bathroom was great. Staff were friendly and I enjoyed the on site cafe. It is only a five minute walk into Shimokitazawa and the Odakyu Line into Shinjuku is two minutes walk away at Higashi Kitazawa. It was very good value.

I love this hotel. I stayed at the (now closed) Shibuya location in 2019 and it was great. The Shimokitazawa location is awesome too. The rooms may be small and basic, the location (off the beaten path, but close to Shimokitazawa and Yoyogi-Uehara/Tomigaya areas) is great. Higashi-Kitazawa station is super close. From there, the Odakyu line runs through onto the Chiyoda metro line which takes you to Harajuku and Omotesando/Aoyama in minutes. The Odakyu line takes you to Yoyogi Hachiman, Sangubashi and Shinjuku quickly. All you need to explore independent shops, cafes, restaurants, bars, etc. The staff are extremely nice, other guests are usually friendly as well and like to chat. The terrace out front is great for hanging out with a coffee. If you’re into meeting people, it’s a great spot for meeting locals who frequent the cafe. All in all, recommend for a more ‘hipster’ experience of Tokyo’s quieter neighborhoods.
