I came to Saigon for new year's celebration. Of course, I have to stay here. 1) they did not raise their price, which is ridiculously low for Saifon's normal market rate, and 2) there was a guest who could only speak Spanish. They helped me to interpret. Upon finding out that the guest has problems with limited cash (he was asking if he could pay with cards), the owner asked if he had enough money for dinner and offered him some cash back and asked that I show him where to find food. Upon finding out that he just arrived and wanted to try VN food and I happened to have a banh mi in hand, I followed the generous spirits of the owner and offered it to him. Which hotel/hostel anywhere in the world would do that???

The price is very reasonable, and the condition of the room is not bad! The owner is very friendly, too. I'm satisfied with the free drink, and the location is great.

Very good and quiet budget option smack dab in the middle of everything where District 1,3,5, and 10 meet. Highly recommended if you want to explore the city by foot for a few days. Busses going all directions frequent the nearby streets as well. Also, there is a great little night market right across the street, so you're covered if you get the cravings for pretty much anything. The hosts are very kind and hospitable, but if you want to experience the nightlife and stay out late, this is not your spot as they close around 23:00 each night. You access the hostel by walking through and out the back of an electronics repair shop. Would stay there again!

1. The dorm room is noisy as hell because of the main street just outside. 2. It's NOT 100% smoking free. There are two rooms for guests, the dorm room and the launge. And while the dorm room is smoking free, people do smoke in the launge. If you are a smoke hater like me, you can't use the launge. Connecting areas like the corridor stinks with smoke as well. False advertising. If I knew it I wouldn't have booked in the first place. 3. Some natives live here. They use the common area as if it's their own. Randomly scattered around food, tiny bugs on the table because of this, using sound devices without earphones, etc. Also there's a 13th person sleeping on the floor. Because of this the common area with tables and chairs is half dead and uncomfortable to use. It's advertised as 12 person room, it's not. Again, false advertising. It was my worst experience. All night air conditioning is the perfect recipe for getting sick. And this sickness ruined my travel. I stayed here for seven nights, and left seven nights earlier thinking my sickness wouldn't heal in such cold environment, and got no refund either. I paid twice as much for getting sick.
