Great little gem, the room is spacious and comfortable. We did have one minor issue with one radiator but were still quite comfortable. The beds are a bit hard, but again not terribly uncomfortable. Nice grab and go breakfast, nothing fancy but absolutely sufficient. Check in was easy and quick, no issues with accessing the building and getting our key. The manager sent an email to see how things were and was kind and helpful. The building is absolutely beautiful, has some fairly recent updates inside. Bus stop to town is just down the street and the one coming back is directly across. I can't say enough good things, I'm so happy with this choice.

Arrived to check in at 8pm on a Saturday night, key safe code didn’t work. 30 mins later on the phone to the management company and we get given a master key for all rooms! Open our room and find people’s belongings so the room had obviously been double booked. The management company didn’t believe us so we had to send pictures to prove there was stuff in there. This is a major security breach as if someone wasn’t as honest as us, people’s valuables could have been taken. Also if we had checked in earlier, we could have had 4 men walking into the room in the middle of the night if they had a key for the same room. Took until gone 10pm at night for them to send us to an apartment down the road. Would not cover a taxi despite us having to carry all our luggage. The apartment they sent us to clearly had no fire procedures in place or safety checks on the electrics and we felt unsafe, this in addition to the loud road noise meant we had no sleep and by 10pm it was too late to go back out for an evening meal so our 1 night away had been ruined. Would avoid at all cost, if you stay here your room isn’t secure so I wouldn’t risk leaving valuables in the room and also your room could be double booked and someone could walk in on you in the middle of the night. They won’t offer any refund for the stress caused only 25% off a future stay, well we definitely don’t want that as would never go there again!

Truly awful. This place is appalling, ignore all reviews that give this place anything other than a single star. It’s listed as a hotel but it’s in fact a poor-quality hostel. It looks lovely from the outside but the interior is tired and outdated, there is no reception and you have to collect your keys from a lockbox. The room was mouldy, there were multiple hairs on the bedsheets as well as numerous stains, there was brown grimy residue in the bottom of the bath, silverfish in the bathroom, our window looked straight at a wall and the “parking” listed was in fact on-street parking at £2.60 per hour. When we went to complain, there was no one in the office and the landline to the offsite office was out of action. We couldn’t bear the thought of staying and left for a Premier Inn (which was great!). The only redeeming feature was the speed with which they issued our refund. Stay at your peril.

Currently staying here The room is not great, broken bed, too warm and no temperature gauge in sight, one hard mattress, one too soft A water heater or something boots up every 3-4 minutes and is extremely loud making it difficult to settle EDIT: bed got replaced the next day, noisy boiler remains an issue, would advise asking for a room at the other end of the building! We're in the studio with mountain view.
