obsessed with this place! from the beautiful surroundings to the charming property itself, we were definitely entranced. the service was amazing - the staff was there for us at every step of the way and we felt very welcome. the room was also comfortable and beautifully-decorated and we really enjoyed all the meals given to us - especially the freshly-baked bread! highly-recommended, and we’ll definitely be back the next time we visit as well (:

A beautiful serene stay at Oliphant bungalow. The staff were great (especially Laksman) and the food was delicious. The bests are extremely comfy and the rooms are very tasteful. Would definitely recommend!

Great view, but far from everything, no much entertainment in the hotel such as gym, spa, pool, rooms are very dark and cold so we been wearing blankets all the time, no ac in the room. Very clean! Tasty! But the best thing was a service! Guys really support every our step and was there for you, they actually made our stay comfortable! There was very kind and friendly gardener who made a small excursion for us, and big thanks to the waiter and all the management..

Positives: - kind staff, everyone wanted us to have a good time. - comfortable rooms, very comfortable bed. - the chef is EXCELLENT. I was sceptical a hotel like this would produce authentic Sri Lankan food, but the Sri Lankan breakfast they served was amongst the best we have had. We asked for it to be spicy and they absolutely delivered. - beautiful grounds. Negatives: - black mould on the ceilings in our bedroom. - cold bathroom. - the hotel is in the middle of nowhere and they don’t provide reasonable rates for transportation, instead the quotes they gave us for transport were more than double the TOURIST rate. Shameless profiteering. We’ve stayed in some really excellent hotels in Sri Lanka which are the remote and the hotels have always helped us by ensuring the location didn’t mean we got rinsed on transport. Oliphant seemed to use their location as an excuse to rinse you further. We were not impressed.
