Honestly I was impressed upon seeing the hotel and the room. Most staff were really friendly and helpful. The rooms (we booked 3 rooms amongst the group) were upscale and obviously quite fancy. However, there is a fundamental problem with their ‘high-tech’ technology. Most of the control in the room are done with an AI which recognised my English accent fine, but not my husband’s French accented English. It was especially a problem for my parents-in-law who didn’t speak any English. Their room was freezing and they couldn’t adjust the temperature at all. My brother in law had problem turning off all the lights and had to resort to covering up the lights with a duvet to sleep. In my room we did manage to set the temperature and lightings to what we wanted. But then in the middle of the night whenever one of us move on the bed, the motion-sensing light in the toilet went on. Resulting in multiple attempts to tell AI to turn off the lights. With all of the above no one rested well in the rooms during our stay. I think this is a very classic example of them complicating a simple situation. It’s all good and well to embrace technology but they need to do user testing on it before they roll it out.

Wonderful 1 week stay. Staff were all knowledgeable and courteous. I had an executive room which I felt was a worthwhile upgrade to access the top floor amenities since I did have to do a few hours of work. The room itself was spacious, a bit dark in the vanity area. I upgraded after I arrived so that I didn't have the free breakfast all week. It's a lovely buffet but I didn't want to repeat any meals. Gym is small but not many were using it the few mornings I went in at 7am. Location is convenient for transit but besides the Q mall I think for nightlife and shopping options I would break up the week and try Xinyi district next time.

3rd time staying here, but besides the first 2 rounds which were alright, this time round I realised the pillows are terribly thin and soft. By the time your head settles in, it's like lying on thin air. AI doesn't recognise or pickup voice commands either. Called guest service to deliver a box of tissues as the room / toilet does not have any facial tissues and the request was left via the voicemail, but hours later, nothing is delivered. The windows are also very thin, even at 2-3am you can clearly hear traffic outside. Other than these, service is otherwise impeccable.

We stayed 4 nights there. Three out of four days - they rang the bell in the mornings and asked whether they can clean the rooms. It is strange for me they have to ring the bell and asked. They should ask before or during our check in time to confirm the cleaning schedule. The last day - the worst - because we already confirm they can do the cleaning at/after 12:00 pm, but when we returned to the room around 5:00 pm, the room was not cleaned yet. Just then, i told them to come back and clean around 7:00 pm when we would gave gone to the dinner, they showed up and cleaned while people were inside the room! It is inappropriate and I have never experienced ring bell everyday to check the cleaning time. Room was fine but I dont like it seemed too dark. It should allow guests to adjust the brightness as I know maybe some guests like the dimming lights but not me.
