The room was nice, and things were generally clean. Staff were kind. The kitchenette was a nice addition. Breakfast was a good variety of options and flavored water available in the lobby. The hotel, however, is not built for colder weather. The room was always cold. No matter how high the thermostat was set, heat would not raise higher than 65 degrees. The shower water remained cold, only ever getting up to a measly lukewarm at best before dipping back down to icy even on the highest setting. There were signs of mold on the walls of the bathroom and door, which contributed to the stale air. There was a vent over the bed that blows stale dirty air in your face as you try to sleep. Felt exhausted and uncomfortable for the entirety of the stay, shivering and struggling to breathe at night. My skin had turned beat red and swollen from the mold allergens and towels. It only started healing once I had returned home... Other guests mentioned similar issues with the showers, missing items, or the temperature, so it didn't seem like I was given a bad room. Maybe the hotel is just better in spring/ summer months... But if you don't like the cold or have asthma, I'd recommend considering other options. Or not travel here for winter.

All the comforts of home like you’re with extended family in the care and attentiveness of the staff at the Courtyard/Residence Inn where I stayed a week for business. Gwen in particular was my personal fave! The breakfast buffet was fresh and delicious with a variety of foods from fruits & yogurts to an array of eggs, home fried potatoes, bacon, sausage, waffles and cereals. Oatmeal to boot, with all the fixings! Staff were on top of keeping items stocked and dining area turn over was constant. Well done! Room was clean, stylish, well equipped and most of all comfortable! Wish I had more time to spend enjoying the top notch accommodations. Didn’t get to see the pool, perhaps next time. Highly recommend this 10/10!!

I had a fantastic experience at Courtyard by Marriott downtown Austin, thanks to the outstanding service from Gwen and Brandon at the front desk. Despite an initial room concern, Brandon swiftly addressed and resolved it, ensuring I was well taken care of. Their professionalism, efficiency, and extra checks demonstrated their commitment to guest satisfaction. Special thanks to Gwen for her friendly demeanor at the counter. Kudos to Brandon for his problem solving ability -even during a busy check in time! Highly recommend their excellent service!

My husband and I decided to come to Austin for Christmas on a whim. We travel for work and have stayed in numerous Marriott properties. This one has by far exceeded any experience we’ve ever had. Gwen at the front desk was the first person we met at check out and she has incredibly welcoming, helpful and has the best smile of anyone in town. Just seeing her brings a smile to your face every time. She truly cares about our experience and wants to make sure we are enjoying our time. We had a few other issues crop up during our stay and the staff has went well above and beyond taking care of our needs to make sure we had an amazing stay in Austin. Thank you to the management team for your attention to detail and willingness to provide great customer service. Thank you Gwen, and all the staff for making our experience so memorable.
