Hotel is in major need of updates and repairs. I’ve stayed here twice and both times I’ve left wondering what the appeal is beyond the room rates. They call themselves a 3 star hotel, but in its current condition it’s more like a 2 star hotel. Case in point, room lights are incredibly dim, shower doesn’t drain as fast as it fills, sink was clogged, breakfast area chairs have no cushion remaining. The location is good for monroeville, but it’s time this place made the necessarily repairs and upgrades.

Located right behind the Sheetz in what used to be the old Showcase Cinemas East. Remember them? I got a room here twice. $160 on average on short notice and general availability. Both times, I got the second floor. Plenty of parking, though it does fill up fast. Check-in only takes a few minutes and you get your card keys and off you go. The rooms are spacious, 42" HDTVs, and the water pressure is strong. On occasions where I had guests from out of town or myself, needed a place to stay this is a reliable bet. Never tried the breakfast.

The only reason I gave this hotel a star was because of my initial check in. The staff was friendly and the lobby was updated and modern. It all went downhill from there. I’ve stayed in $70 motel rooms that were nicer. There were scuff marks everywhere, carpet coming up in the halls and the rooms, dust all over the hardware in the rooms. There was hair throughout both bathrooms, along with some small spots that looked like blood and a booger on the door. The dishes in the room were filthy. Thankfully, we brought our own utensils to use. All furniture was extremely uncomfortable, from the office chair to the beds. I was up off and on all night. The connection and cellular service was AWFUL. I couldn’t complete any work while there due to this issue. There were 3 tvs in the room, yet only 2 remotes….and even better, only 1 worked. Bugs. Were. Everywhere. Being in a somewhat wooded area, I understand bugs being outside; however, when I pay $300 for a hotel room for 1 night, I expect a clean interior. There were dead bugs in the lobby, in the elevators, in the hallways, on the doors, and in the rooms. In addition, I requested an extra blanket as our room was freezing, even after turning the air off. I was told that I didn’t need an extra blanket because there were extra blankets on the pull out sofa. There was none. I checked both closets and found nothing. My husband and I chose this hotel as it was close to the office he was getting a medical procedure. He had to prep for this procedure the night before, making him extremely uncomfortable. I thought it would be nice for him to have a more “homey” feel rather than just a hotel room. I was greatly mistaken and we were both absolutely disgusted by our stay here. I feel bad for anyone who stays here for any length of time.

After hitting traffic and stops, which turned our 6 hour drive into 8.5 hours, my wife and I were exhausted. We stopped in and the young lady at the front desk, Latoya, was a very welcome breath of fresh air. Absolute sweetheart, funny, ultra professional. She definitely set the tone for our pleasant stay and really left a positive impact on us! The rooms were clean, breakfast was great, the gym was very basic but got the job done. We had a nice stay and would use this location again next time we come for the convention! The only reason I gave it 4 and not 5 stars was because our bed was very uneven and had a deep “pit” in it. I did not think it would be a big deal, but unfortunately left me with some nasty lower back pain. Otherwise, everything else in the room was in great order. One last note. This location does NOT have EV parking. I am definitely not counting this against the location, but saw on a few sources online that this hotel did have EV parking, which is false on those other source’s ends, not the hotel itself.
