Stunning and sophisticated hotel Absolutely beautiful hotel in an excellent location. We went for new year Eve for 1 night and it was worth it. The Christmas decorations stunning and the New Year Eve Gala Dinner food was extraordinary. Good entertainment too. The Count Down Party was good and the fireworks viewable from the rooftop. We received a lovely welcome with a nice drink. Our hotel rooms was okay but not great . Limited snacks and only two bottles of water in the room, a problem for a hot day! Breakfast epic huge choice and amazing dining room. Reception not that helpful but to be fair a busy time. The location is really good and just outside the hotel is a beautiful garden and a street away all the best shops, channel ect. Walking distance to the city museum. Recommend the hotel for New Year Eve. You local Guide- M❤️ Follow me if helpful

The rooms are nice and clean but the outlet placement is inconvenient (e.g. there isn't an outlet on one side of the bed). The common areas however are quite dated and are due for some renovations. The corridor carpet looks quite worn, same thing for the pool, the stairs, the gym, the spa, etc. Also, the corridors have no AC and with the extreme heat and humidity of Saigon, you'd expect a five-star hotel to have AC. The lobby is very nice but is part of a shopping centre. This makes it quite hectic and the staff cannot distinguish a hotel guest from a random shopper. Therefore, service in the lobby can be dicey. The walls also seem to be quite thin as I could hear music and talking coming from other rooms. We had booked three premium rooms with king sized beds. Only one of the rooms had a king sized bed and the other two had two singles. The reception initially stated there were none available. After insisting, they magically found another room with a king sized bed. However, this room was not premium and was smaller than the other rooms. They advertise the premium rooms as being of a certain size and this room was not. They made no effort to compensate for this -- no reduced rate (since the room received was not the room paid for), not even a voucher of some sort. The breakfast was fine. Acceptable but not on par with other five-star hotels. The eggs served are prepared in advance rather than by order. There is also no shuttle service available to and from the airport. The location is great as you are in the city centre close to many shops, restaurants, and attractions. However, as stated, the common lobby with the shopping centre is annoying. Overall, this hotel did not meet my expectations. The hotel has such a grand reputation and boasts about its service, which was subpar considering the price of the rooms. I would say this is on the lower end of a four-star hotel.

My family and I stayed at the Rex Hotel in Ho Chi Minh city in November 2023. The hotel staff were very accommodating, helpful and pleasant. The location was convenient. Special thanks to the tour desk staff, especially Phuong An, Nhi, and Van, for arranging memorable tours for our family. The tours exceeded our expectations and met our needs. We would highly recommend families traveling in Vietnam to stay at this hotel, and to make use of their wonderful and trustworthy tour desk staff. All of the hotel staff from the drivers, waiters/waitresses, bell boys, and housekeeping employees, were incredibly kind and considerate. We greatly appreciated our stay at Rex.

My grandfather stay here in the early 70’s before South Vietnam fall to the North. My father stay here in the 80’s when he came here for business. I stay here in 2023 for business. Love the hotel characters, the room need to be updated. The roof bar is great in the evening if you want to have a drink or two. Location excellent right in the middle of everything.

Five stars for the redemption of customer service provided by manager Ahn. I had some initial issues with the hotel service on arrival but ultimately left very happy due to the efforts made to acknowledge these issues and apologise for them. I strongly believe it’s often how a hotel responds to concerns that is the ultimate reflection of their customer service and for a five star establishment such as the Rex I am satisfied with my experience. As a result, I am making another booking for a few days time. The location is very central for sightseeing and the historic character of the hotel adds charm.
