I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Rihga Gran Kyoto hotel, and I must say it was an outstanding experience from start to finish. One of the highlights of my stay was the delicious breakfast offered at the hotel. The variety and quality of the dishes were truly impressive. Whether you prefer Japanese cuisine or more Western-style options, the breakfast buffet had something to satisfy every palate. It was a delightful way to start each day of my stay. The rooms at the Rihga Gran Kyoto are exceptional. They are not only spacious and well-appointed but also extremely clean and comfortable. The attention to detail in the room's design and furnishings did not go unnoticed, and it made for a truly relaxing and enjoyable stay. Now, let's talk about the bathroom - it was a luxury in itself. The bathroom amenities were top-notch, and the level of comfort and sophistication was beyond my expectations. It's safe to say that I had some of the most relaxing baths in the elegant bathtub during my stay. As with all Japanese hotels, the bidet in the bathroom was a Godsend for a tourist like me. It's the little things that make a difference in one's travel experience, and this added convenience was greatly appreciated. And here's a sweet surprise – the ice cream machine on the 4th floor! The ice cream it dispensed was not just your ordinary treat; it was some of the tastiest ice cream I've had in a while. It was the perfect way to cool off after a day of exploring Kyoto. In conclusion, my stay at the Rihga Gran Kyoto was truly memorable. The combination of excellent food, clean and comfortable rooms, luxurious bathroom amenities, and thoughtful touches like the bidet and the ice cream machine made it a standout experience. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again on my next visit to Japan. Kudos to the entire team at Rihga Gran Kyoto for making my stay so enjoyable and memorable!

About a 3 minute walk to the local JR Kyoto station, allowing for easy access around the city. The rooms themselves are quite small, but that's expected for Japanese accommodations. We got the breakfast as a part of our booking, and it was alright. You're better off getting breakfast at a local café or bakery if you don't get it included in your reservation. Staff are very helpful and could speak English to help us. You can also keep your luggage with them if you arrive early for check in or need to leave later than the 11am checkout time.

Good location. Quite new rooms. Great breakfast. Staffs were mostly helpful. But we experienced an unhelpful staff that denied to call the restaurant reservation that usually can’t speak English. So we need their help but she gave us the unreasonable refusal.

Rooms are clean, tidy and well equipped - fridge, kettle, TV. They are too small to open cases other than on our beds. They'd be fine for somebody travelling for a day or 2, with only a small bag or back pack. We are 100 metres or so from Kyoto main train station, ie Bullet Train and many regional systems, and a bus terminal. Avanti shopping centre is closer.
