Stayed here back in October and I loved the aesthetic! The record player in the rooms and records in the ‘lobby’ area give a retro vibe. I loved the popsicle stand and the wallpapers in the rooms. The pool was very relaxing too; there weren’t many people hanging there throughout my stay which worked in my favor. As for the location, it was nice! My friends and I walked to the local Starbucks and even some restaurants along the way. The hotel is also about 15-20 minutes away from Scottsdale which is where we went for nightlife. The reason for the 4 stars is due to the fact that none of the bedrooms have more than one bed which I noticed before I booked and the minor wear and tear. Other than that, I enjoyed my stay and appreciate how friendly/helpful the staff was!

Thinking about booking a room with Rise Uptown Hotel? Better check your credit card bill closely. This hotel decided to charge me a higher rate than what I booked, claiming that my confirmed rate didn't include taxes and fees (oh, I have receipts — they clearly state that the rate was final, and inclusive of all taxes and fees). This is a deceptive practice, to put it mildly. When I noticed the overcharge and flagged the discrepancy in rate, I expected them to acknowledge the mistake. Instead the hotel's response was the equivalent of ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ — they didn't care. In fact, they claimed the overcharge was correct. Imagine just charging a customer more than what they agreed to, and thinking that's OK. Imagine what staying there would be like, with this amateur level of customer service. EDIT (in reply to the owner response below): Yes, I was truly overcharged. I tried repeatedly to resolve this issue — which I originally thought was an honest mistake by your hotel — before finally cancelling my reservation. I have already booked another hotel I'm happy with. I truly believe you are only offering to "make things right" at this very late stage because of this negative feedback. But this review is for the sake of other prospective guests, who should know what your hotel is really like.

I just spent a week at RISE on a work trip. I organized a group reservation for 22 people - each with their own rooms. We were all very impressed with the quality of service, friendliness of the staff and comfort / style of the rooms. The bar and pool area is super cute and it's great to have a Cartel coffee right on property. Having a free popsicle on check in is also a great bonus! :) Not only is RISE a wonderful hotel but it's also located in a very cool district of Phoenix surrounded by great restaurants and hip boutiques. I would absolutely stay here again for work or pleasure!

DO NOT STAY HERE!!! Rise used to be my favorite hotel to stay at in Phoenix. Rooms have very cool vibes, awesome bar/restaurant called Lylo and a great pool area. My most recent stay however, I realized I was being charged a per night all inclusive resort fee. When I asked what was all inclusive I was told it was for the 2 free water bottles in my room, parking, and a free cocktail which I was not made aware of so I didn’t even get. I didn’t bring a car either so I didn’t use the parking. The pool and hot tub were broken so I didn’t get to use that either. Add in the fact that my AC was broken and it was about 85 degrees in my room and my room was never cleaned, this was one of the worst stays I’ve experienced. In other words, I pleas charged a $97 all inclusive fee for the 2 “free” water bottles I drank. Worst part is, I was never made aware of these fees. If I would have known I never would have booked. I used to stay here 7-8 times a year. That will be the last time I step foot in this hotel again. Hope the extra $97 was worth losing a very loyal customer.

Staying here on a business trip, I went up to the hotel bar and was greeted by excellent service. All three staff members were social and did a great job building a rapport with customers. I can't say enough about how friendly everyone was, especially Luis. He made it feel like we had been friends for years. Highly recommend stopping by and meeting the staff in the bar.
