I stayed at Sherwood Guest House for 4 nights with 3 friends of mine. The house is very clean, cosy, has large rooms, offered a big variety of breakfast and had the best host we could have asked for. Vivienne went above and beyond for us. Always super friendly, funny and upbeat, giving us great recommendations and advice for sightseeing, etc., always making sure we had everything we needed and overall just a genuinely kind, sweet and awesome human. I had a medical emergency in the middle of the night and Vivienne was there right away taking care of me and even called her next door neighbor, who was a doctor, over to take a look at me. I've met Vivienne as a host, and said goodbye (for now) to her as a friend. I will definitely be back soon! Highly recommended - 5/5! Much love, -Manuel from Vienna, Austria

Stayed here for 3 days and it was amazing. Vivienne was an excellent host - she was very friendly and welcoming, and gave us many wonderful suggestions for our time in the city. The rooms were clean, the breakfast was great, and the location was convenient + quiet. Would definitely recommend!

We've stayed with Vivienne for the past two years and wish we had discovered her fine guest house earlier. It is unfortunate that I can only give her guest house five stars. The entire guest house is neat and clean, the rooms are delightful, the continental breakfast is one of the finest we've found and the location offers easy access to all parts of the city and surroundings.

Vivienne was an excellent host. She was kind, helpful with everything that we needed and as if that wasn’t already good enough she was also incredibly funny. I would absolutely 100% recommend Sherwood house to anyone. It’s very cosy, service (as I’ve already mentioned) is amazing, and the breakfast is lovely. Anytime I’ll go to Edinburgh again, I will absolutely stay at Sherwood house and will recommend it to every single one of my peers. Could not be more satisfied
