I toured the Tea Industry Research Institute, which was renovated for an event called ``Uji Shincha 88 Nights Tea Picking Gathering''. It was a very good experience, including the behavior of Uji Shincha, a tea picking experience (we were able to take the picked tea leaves home), a demonstration and experience of tea kneading, a tour of a tea factory, and an explanation of the research results displayed. Among them, the "cold brew tencha" that I sampled was outstandingly delicious. The research institute is apparently trying to figure out how to make it commercially available, but the problem is that it's not cheap. Also, the renovated research institute had a very nice atmosphere, with lots of wood used.
