Sweat Box, lol. Pros: Kind & very helpful, professional staff. Staff offer good laundry service. Many spots in common areas to hang wet clothes. Check out was very easy. Cons: grungy showers, humid bed boxes, no coffee happening downstairs. The A/C is turned off during the hottest afternoon hours. Even when it is on, it doesn't really get through the curtain. Some small things that could be done to improve guest experience: - add more hooks in the boxes for hanging towels and sweaty clothes etc. - add ventilation at the top of the shower doors; or consider putting up signage to ask guests to leave 1 door open when finished. Reason: The shower stalls have NO ventilation so it smells like mould inside when showering. The shower stall floors can't dry so it feels smelly, wet & dirty to change clothes in there. - have small personal fans for rent/purchase at the front desk for guests too hot in their box - you'd probably make a lot of money :) Hope this helps, and thanks again to the kind staff :-)

Staff were friendly and they really assist you with your inquiries. Bed bunks and shared bathrooms are clean so if you're a solo traveller and you want a cheap and accessible place to stay, this hostel is a good choice. The beach and bars are also within a 5-minute walk.

This hostel is a mixed bag, while it’s not on my list of must tries it was still very modern looking, affordable and located less than a 5 minute walk from Patong beach. With a late flight we had to check in after official check in hours and the staff were kind enough to leave us our key card taped on the door so that we could get in. We also booked four beds in the 20 person room but were upgraded to a four person dorm upon arrival, this does seem to be the case during low season at most hostels, but still always appreciated. I have no clue why the older reviews say there is free breakfast but this wasn’t the case for us. There was a kettle, a toaster and a few dishes but no hot plate so making your own food was not the easiest option. They did have refillable water which is something I always look for but out of the three nights we were there the water tank was always close to empty and never got changed. There was laundry on site, a nice common area to sit and watch tv or chat with other travellers. There’s also a coffee shop attached if that tickles your fancy. The staff were really nice and helped us print our bus tickets last minute so that was definitely appreciated. The biggest problem was probably the lack of cleanliness. While there was a cleaning lady on duty sweeping hallways and common areas, the shower drain smelled pretty bad and the bathrooms were pretty gross most of the time. The showers were definitely not as maintained as I’ve seen in other places and they could definitely use an update on the caulking along the floor which was turning black. There is also a limit on using the A/C from 11am-6pm, but if the staff noticed that we were occupying the common area during that time she would usually turn the A/C on for us which was appreciated. There is a ton of good food in the area, and the night markets are quite fun. Patong beach was fun too but you get heckled a lot by people trying to sell you drinks or jet skis or parasailing etc. We later discovered that the prices for water sports were cheaper in Phuket than other islands like Samui and Phangan so that’s something to note! Overall taking into account location, cleanliness, staff and overall vibe it gets a 3.5 stars from me!
