Clean, comfortable, accessible hotel with a wonderful staff. The rooms are basic, but always clean, hot water, good a/c, reliable wifi, free light breakfast in the morning, and walkable to downtown Dar, plently of great restaurants in the area and the local market right next door.

I recently stayed at the Sophia Hotel, and overall, my experience was positive. The staff was friendly and the location was convenient. However, there are a few areas where improvements could enhance the overall guest experience. Positive Aspects: - The hotel's location is excellent, making it easy to access popular attractions. -The staff members were friendly and welcoming throughout my stay. room was clean and well-maintained. Areas for Improvement: - While the staff was friendly, there were instances where response time to guest inquiries could be improved, especially room service 😀 - The breakfast options could be expanded to cater to a wider range of dietary preferences. - Wi-Fi connectivity in certain areas of the hotel was inconsistent. Suggestions for Improvement: - Consider additional training for staff during busy periods to ensure efficient service. - Explore more diverse menu options for breakfast, including vegetarian and gluten-free choices. - Evaluate and enhance Wi-Fi infrastructure for a more consistent and reliable connection. I hope these suggestions are taken into consideration for the betterment of future guests. First stay my bedside table was covered in something sticky. This stay the front desk had to call someone to see if my airport taxi was actually booked and they stapled my bags when I left them for the day? (They put a paper on it, to mark it’s mine) It’s just small holes but come one, why damage someone’s property? And they left them out in an open area where, yes there was the reception desk, but I don’t think there was someone there the whole time. The first time I told them about the airport taxi the day before, I said my flight is at 11pm the next day and I will inform them about the pick up time when I check out the next day. Then at 5:30 in the morning I had a person knock at my door for the taxi??? I am assuming it was because in Swahili 11 means 5 (in terms of time) but that still leads to the question if they were even listening to me as a flight at 5 would have required a pick up earlier than 5:30??? Also they should assume that a European foreigner will not tell them time in Swahili. Location is very good and central, but therefore loud. Good view of the city as well. If you’re staying in the rooms on the floor adjacent to the breakfast area be prepared for noise starting at around 6 am. Well the stay actually wasn’t too bad, but the end with the damage and taxi threw me off.

The best place I stayed in Dar es Salam.I want thanks a lot TAHAD for helping for my wrong booking on booking .com I did book for next year 😀TAHAD with a small adding of money ,also extended my 3 days with a late check in . I do suggest this place for value of money ,nice rooms ,clean ,hot water for shower 🚿 private bathroom en-suite toilet .breakfast included.decent breakfast.use BOLT TO MOVE around and you get the main beaches with 2 dollars of a ride …I do not suggest to stay near the beach area too expensive and beaches are not nice and dirty .stay at Sophia hotel and then from there move around . Also laundry 🧺 service they do . Plenty of restaurants and grocery around the area of the hotel.. I do recommend a lot this place And ask for TAHAD FOR EVERYTHING!!
