Stayed here for 3 nights over new year and had a fantastic time. Caroline was a lovely host very friendly and attentive. Our room was clean with tea and coffee facilities and a tv, and the bed was comfortable. Parking on site and great location only a 10 minute walk to the centre. Breakfast was very nice and good portion sizes. Caroline and the girls really looked after us, we will definitely be staying again when we return to York.

A Little Gem.... Situated on a quiet backstreet but well located to the centre of York. We just had an overnight stay and booked the small double which was the only one available. Room was exceptionally clean and well appointed. Everything was perfect. Breakfast was very good and parking is available at the front of the hotel. Staff are very friendly and helpful. We had a lovely stay and will definitely be back. Just loved it!

This is a great place with a 10 minute walk from train station and to downtown. Breakfast was excellent as many have commented on - don’t change a thing! We were in room #2 for 2 nights. Comfortable double bed and pillows. It’s a bit small as there is really very little place to put your luggage, short of zipping up every time and putting then in open closet behind the door. Room service received while we were out which was a pleasant surprise. Shower was OK as well - keeping in mind the house is a period home. Found the self-check-in a little distant (Friday mid-afternoon) as we only received an email and no opportunity to reply to it (error on site when I tried 2x)….so felt a touch stranded until I read through one of the entire emails received to find door security code buried in there (might just be me). As we arrived at our room, its door key was waiting in the lock. Never actually met Mgr, only the waitresses for 2 days of breakfasts, whom were very accommodating and polite.

I stayed at St Mary’s for three nights and I can honestly say Ii loved it, the staff were amazing kind and helpful. Tilly you are an absolute delight and I thank you for everything, what an asset you are to the guest house. Caroline and Christina I thank you as well.
