The Devereux Boutique Hotel was an extremely pleasant surprise! The staff were very friendly and provided excellent service from check-in to check-out. The room had everything we needed for our stay, and was clean and organised. A great "bang for your buck" option for someone who wants to stay near central without all the loud noise and distractions. Will definitely be here again!

We thought with the pictures and write up on the website, it would be a nice place to stay. We were in a garden apartment. Shower ran out of hot water so only one of us got one and water alarmingly high as drain possibly blocked. Coffee cups were dirty and we only had one to share as per the cutlery. Broken cupboard under the sink and toilet roll kept falling off onto the floor. View out our window was of general disrepair of the courtyard. The proprietor who looked after us (young man) was disinterested and unhelpful. Cost us $170 for the night. The only good thing was handy to Remuera shops. Were in Auckland for a funeral so looking forward to a nice night prior to this. Won't stay there again as very disappointing. ALSO no smoke alarm which we eventually found in the cupboard with a flat battery!!!!

Terrible customer service at the desk in the colonial house in the back which we thought we were going to be staying, but no such luck as it's the motel dive in the front also the room was absolutely poor standard. Their photos look better online than in reality which is so disappointing. The only good part was the remuera area and that's it.😞

We stayed in the Orient room and found it cozy with a comfy bed and lovely view. It seemed as though we were the only people in the hotel the first two nights of our stay and it was great. Unfortunately there were two obnoxious parties flanking our room that checked in on our last night. Odd considering it was a Sunday in Remuera…? Being an older building the sound proofing is non existent so the other guests were quite disruptive. Though its age is part of its charm, it admittedly could use a bit more attention to detail when it comes to cleaning (dusting etc). The staff is lovely and the free off street parking is great. Unfortunately, it seems your stay is highly dependent on how respectful the other guests are. Not sure I would stay again solely based on that fact which is a shame because it’s a very nice place that I’d recommend otherwise.
