Writing review here as the hotel have failed to respond to my complaint. I booked the festive family stay over Christmas. Unfortunately there were no gifts for the children as advertised and we had no hot water for the duration of the stay so they couldn’t take advantage of the jacuzzi bath. We were advised the hotel was full, hence no hot water and to try every hour or so, which we did to no avail. We had to have some bedding throws removed due to stains … they’d not been washed. The carpet was wet in areas from previous night spillages I assume. The rooms look nice from a distance but definitely need some TLC. Front of house staff were nice but overall have felt fobbed off Breaskfast was good!!

We have a enjoyable stay at the Dixie Dean .The service we received was excellent. Staff are so friendly and they went out of their way to make us feel comfortable. and welcome .Our room was lovely and spacious we had a Cave room which has 2 king-size beds and 4 single beds even though there was just the 2 sharing this room .Lovely delicious food and the last day at breakfast I had smoked salmon

A great cheap stay if you are staying in a group. The staff are very welcoming. I've seen complaints on here about the deposit, it's not actually a deposit as you only get charged if you damage something after your stay, which is understandable as it is a party hotel. I've also seen complaints about being turned away with kids. This is a hotel that is designed for hen and stag does. I would not want to bring a child here. The bathroom and beds were clean. The beds were also very comfortable. Better lighting is needed though if they are made for hen does as it's very hard to get your make up done. There were also dirty cups in the cupboard of the room we stayed in (not just stained but bits stuck to the inside). If these points were met I would have given 5 stars.

Short break was booked with Grand UK. Staff were friendly and helpful. Bed comfortable and room clean. Hot water wasn't great. Breakfast OK. Seems there are some important health & Safety issues overlooked. No handrail on steps to entrance. It is extremely dark in the foyer and public areas. Coming out of the lift there is a small step which is easy to miss as it isn't painted white. And finally the shower which is over the jacuzzi bath no grab rails. So easy to slip in bath regardless of the guests age. And finally I think the rating should be 3 star with a big plus but NOT 4 star. Would I stay again I think it's very unlikely.

We visited this hotel for 2nights over Christmas period! We paid for a luxury double with double jacuzzi in bathroom. On arrival the staff behind desk was very friendly and pleasant and welcoming! The room was very beautiful at 1st but soon turned out not to be very good. We had no hot water whatsoever to have use of the jacuzzi, when we called the desk they said they’d been closed for Christmas and also others are probably running the water the same time 🙄! That’s a terrible excuse for a hotel in this size knowing most rooms have jacuzzi and obviously need to accommodate this. We had to boil the kettle 6 times to get the water to a good temperature! Then there was no heating or use of the air con due to the controller touch pad broken so it was either red hot in there or freezing cold I wrote a mail to customer service and offered a 10% discount which I felt is not acceptable when they couldn’t fulfill their own standards They offered us another room but 1 had no jacuzzi and the other was in the basement with 16 double beds and 16 jacuzzis! All white and looked like a place where you’d never stay ever!! Gross
