The Gate Hotel is absolutely fabulous! I stay here often for business - it's extremely comfortable with a superb location and customer offering. Alongside the hotel and rooms being well furnished, modern and chic, the staff are really what makes The Gate such a lovely place to stay. They are so welcoming and helpful and they always make the effort to ensure that my stay is the best it can possibly be, every time. Enjoyed my stay at The Gate Hotel. Room was very large and clean. My view was amazing. Free coffee and tea all day long for guests in the lounge area. They also had a really good breakfast for a little extra money (worth it). The location was not too ideal for site seeing as it was very far (walking) from most landmarks.

Nice & small apartment style hotel room. The staff are very friendly at the reception. Always happy to help. There is no phones in the room,so if you have any requests,you have to go down to the reception and let them know. Nearby to supermarkets and tube stations. Quiet area. It is worth staying once.

Our experience here was absolutely outstanding. The staff made us feel right at home and the hotel itself has a nice modern decoration and great facilities. The gym is well equipped and clean. We didn't use the space on the 5th floor but it looks really nice. We had bought flours and asked for a vase and it was brought up to us immediately. We would definitely return.

We stayed for a number of nights at the Gate. The hotel is located in a convenient location close to a tube station and buses. Our room was comfortable but very small. For the price the hotel under deliverers. The breakfast was well below an acceptable standard. The coffee machine produced coffee that was undrinkable. Do your guests a favour and buy a decent machine. The food at breakfast was a mix of supermarket pastries and muffins and unripe fruit. The cooked breakfast was no better. A far superior breakfast can be found at nearby cafes. Our checkout experience was the most concerning aspect of our stay at the Gate. We were advised that if we provided a 5 star online review of our stay at the Gate we would receive a 20% discount off the cost of our next stay. We were stunned at this blatant attempt to ‘buy’ good reviews. The reception desk staff appeared to be uncomfortable with being required to ask guests to do this. Trying to induce guests to provide a positive review is an unethical way to operate and is against the spirit of reviewing a hotel on its merits. Clearly this approach didn’t work on us.
