A terrible experience, not hygienic or comfortable at all. Cold cold room, and the radiator would not turn at at all (after over an hour it was still stone cold) Bedsheets were not fresh. Long hair found in bed when I first pulled down the sheets. Staff took the better part of an hour to decide to give us another room across the hall. New room was also very cold and the heat would not come on, but at least the sheets were fresh. Staff member who came to our room didn't communicate well and was dismissive, at best. He did not listen to what I told him, having to feel the radiator himself rather than accept the fact that the room was very cold. For 3 hours the radiator was cold, with the valve on full. After 4 hours the radiator was so hot it woke me up, as the room was very stuffy The hallway was warmer than either room. The tile grouting was not clean at all. Someone had started to clean it, but missed huge spots. See for yourself. I could add more, but enough is enough. Updated after their response. Your offer of 20%off a future stay was pretty insulting. Why would you expect me to stay there again? It was a terrible stay. You spent more energy on your 8 paragraph, 333 word response than you did when I was talking to you in my cold room. The response sounds so prepared, apologetic and is pretty much meaningless drivel. It's either a common response from a template ready to go, or I suspect AI wrote it.

I have never seen more ignorant staff in a place in my life. Was there New Year’s Eve the girl at the door of the bar/dinning area was so rude, food was disgusting. The rest of the staff were friendly and attentive except for one bar man who was the rudest person I’ve ever met. Many people I spoke to had the same experience with him, however I spoke to a man who I assume was the manager who was very apologetic regarding the behaviour of some staff members. A few courses in customer care and respectful communication wouldn’t go a stray.

From April 2023 I spoke with numerous members of staff at The Green Isle about a surprise wedding I was having for all our family back home. Myself my partner and our children were all going home for the first time in 4 years. We were travelling from Australia and we had other family all going back to Ireland too. From Atlanta, Syria, Uk, Western Australia. The members of the event management team along with the duty management staff all went above and beyond to help make our surprise wedding fantastic and a huge success. Elaine upgraded our room for us, Ronan brought us up complimentary breakfast on the wedding morning, they provided anything extra that we asked for, the bar staff handed out champagne to all our guests, they had all the conservatory area set up for us ready to hold this special surprise. Mamum, Faustina and all the staff were so welcoming, helpful and friendly and I would definitely recommend this hotel to others. Looking forward to our next trip back home in 2025 and will be staying there again 😊

I wish I'd read the reviews before booking. Due to last minute schedule change it was a quick and last minute booking. Feeling secure that it would be okay as it was portrayed as a 4*. What a shock. If this hotel was a 1* it would be stretching. Ignorant, as well as incompetent staff. Poor food, terrible bar area. Room was extremely basic, windows didn't fit properly and rattled all night. Stench of exotic tobacco from those smoking outside. The room was freezing. Im the guy that turns the heating down at home as I typically run warm. This was like a survival mission inside the artic circle. Dinner was a real treat, I opted for the carvery, still chewing the beef now 24hrs later. Then the breakfast, how do you burn bacon that well? It can only be through reheating on consecutive days. Burnt but rubbery is definitely new to me. I'm very food tolerant and have eaten in many countries around the world, and yet the food here at the Green isle is the worst ever experienced, and yes that does compare to living and eating bush tucker road kill, 20 years ago. This is a hotel to avoid. Stay well clear.
