This used to be our favorite place to stay in Detroit. The location is great. The Inn is very near a Q Line stop which means you can get around town very easily. It's also very easy to walk to local restaurants and attractions. The rooms are nice enough with quirks born out of the updating of these old mansions. You trade off modern expectations for the experience of stepping back in time for a few nights. I'm good with that. All that said, I don't think I'll return to the Inn. The breakfast was a major let-down. It's a continental setup where everything is cold, even the egg-bites seemed to be frozen to the serving plate. I've had better breakfasts at hotel chains. I came to the Inn expecting a Bed & Breakfast experience. They have the "Bed" part of the equation down, but that's not what I paid for. I miss the old Inn on Ferry Street.

I booked directly for a night away from home for my wife. The staff not only helped select the right room but gave me a better price than 3rd party. They took excellent care of my wife and the experience was so much more relaxing than a normal hotel. The room was exquisite, the staff was welcoming, the house was impressive, and the location was great. We will certainly stay here again but will refer visiting friends here too.

I spent my one year anniversary at the Roehm house. I am an architecture historian and the historic preservation and historic knowledge the staff has about the house I stayed in with my partner is amazing. I can’t express how wonderful my stay was. If you are a history buff and want to stay in a place where the staff is knowledgeable, caring, and attentive then this is the place to stay. The neighborhood has multiple historic buildings so the whole stay is influenced by beautiful architecture. The kind and welcoming staff made the stay so so wonderful. I only stayed one night, but the impact was lasting. I will be returning! We want to try staying in another house for our next anniversary!

I had never stayed in ahistorical home/inn. But I read the reviews and I was convinced it would be a great fit. The historical home was beautiful and cleeannnnn! The attendant was sweet and recommended some activities for us! Which was very helpful. There are several museums that are within walking distance. She also suggested the games that were available for the families to play and my daughter loved that. We played monopoly that night! The continental breakfast was good. Our stay was excellent to say the least.
