Great value for the price in this centrally located budget hotel. We will definitely stay here again! Perfect for the budget minded traveller looking for a safe, clean, great location. Not for the person looking for amenities. Family friendly (no entertainment, but safe/quiet). Must climb stairs with your luggage. Clean, quiet room with a small desk/table and private bathroom. The second bed (twin) in our room, was in a small alcove, which was nice. As expected, the rooms are outdated, small, no frills, but the lower price reflects that.

Basic hotel right in the centre of London. If you have lots of cases, yes, there are lots of stairs but as we only had one small backpack each this wasn't a problem. The bathroom was tiny but again, not a problem, we weren't exactly ballroom dancing in there anyway. The room was very basic, but clean and exactly what we needed for a 2 night stay. They have tried to soundproof the place as much as possible with additional windowpanes but as the hotel is in the very centre of the biggest city in the UK, there's a bit of noise from bars and supercars: nothing the hotel can change. The check in and cleaning staff were very friendly. Reception is upstairs and the hotel itself seems to be split between several buildings. I've never stayed in a place quite like it, but live that you don't really know that the hotel is there unless you're looking for it! Please keep in mind that these are old buildings, so no, they can't install lifts or do much about heating / cooling. If you're after a basic hotel in the thick of London, next door to Bow Street and Oxford Street, and you don't mind a few stairs, I can heartily recommend Mermaid Suite Hotel.

Great location but very basic rooms, although they were serviced daily. Use it just for the location. Only has steps so not for those with mobility issues.

Can't beat the location for value! But please note no lift and no air cons in most rooms. It has 6 flights of stairs if you're on the top floor. We initially had a room on the top floor (rm.21) with no air-conditioning. Very small room and bathroom. Could not turn in the shower. We requested to change room, one with an aircon. Staff were friendly with the request. Paid extra but well worth it as this room was much more comfortable in size and amenities.

Location is perfect. In the middle of everything. Service, well it's only one person in his desk, whatever he can provide from there. The rooms are basic, ours had no A/C. Now, the main problem is to carry the luggage through the stairs to the rooms and there are 3 floors. No matter in what floor is your room, you have stairs, small stairs! Service will be better if they provide help with the luggage.
