TOKYO-W-INN Asakusa - Hostel

Had a great time in this place! Seems to attract really good people, both local travelers from other prefectures and tourists flying from overseas, so conversations in the lounge with random people were pretty memorable. Not centrally located in Asakusa but very near train stations (Tawaramachi via Ginza Line), so it's easy to access but initially a challenge to find--just make sure to have Google Maps. Staff are nice (shoutout to Yoshi!) and the shared spaces are clean, especially the toilets/bathrooms. Not the first time I've been in a hostel type accommodation, and this has been the easiest stay for me considering I never had to wait for a bath/toilet to free up, and never felt the need to tiptoe around the spaces because everything was consistently cleaned. Would echo one review here that said that there's no space for luggage access, which made me bring my stuff into my cube/bunk for easier access during my stay. In packing my stuff prior to departure, I had to bring my luggage, the stuff I bought and the things I needed to repack up the balcony/lounge and do my packing there, (I mean, I wouldn't complain because it was a nice area hehe) just to have enough space to move stuff around. Things of note: - 1 towel can be offered for free along with other items you can choose from as a 'free item' during your stay (ie toothbrush/toothpaste, detergent, water) or else, you pay a small amount for it - Filtered water from the tap is available from the lounge, so best that you have your own tumbler or bottle - You can buy food from the grocery/konbini and leave your food in the fridge as long as it's labeled with your cube number - Pelican (the bakery locals and tourists line up for) is just around the corner! Take advantage of this :) - If you're the type of take your time in walking and going around, the Sensoji temple is a 15-20 min walk and you can extend your walk to the Sumida River >> Tokyo Skytree. Nice, steady area. - Also take advantage of the ear plugs given for free, as making even the tiniest noise (ie hitting your cube's wooden walls) can be amplified because of the material. Would definitely choose this place again when I visit Tokyo as I feel like I've gotten my money's worth for the overall experience (vicinity/access/cleanliness/comfort/etc). The balcony also has a nice view of Tokyo Skytree--the claims are right. :p

Actually comfortable. Location may be a little ways out from stuff but there are some nice little cafe locations around. Real quite too so no major noise outside. Over all I think I would reserve too. They also offer pocket wifi if you didn't happen to get one at airport. There is a fee of course.
