Overall Experience - Visited Velana, Maafushi from 25th-28th Jan'24. Had an exceptional experience, which was majorly driven by the hotel staff. Extremely courteous and helpful in answering all queries, especially the 2 women, one who is at the reception and the second one who waits the tables. Food - Have lot of vegetarian and non-vegetarian options, so vegetarians need not worry either. Others - Really good location and well organized eating area, just outside the hotel building. Hardly 200m from Bikini Beach which is the main beach there.

Very smooth check in. I had a great time while staying in Velana. Staffs are very friendly, polite and they made all my transfers very smoothly. Awesome outer dining space with good view. Rooms were very spacious & clean with good sea view Just Some points that should be considered by Velana team - 1. Bathroom's Ceiling shower was not working at all. 2. Hand shower's holder was loose and came out 2-3 times.

Such a warm welcome from the team at Velana. From the beginning to the end, the service was top quality. They accommodated our transfer smoothly. The Seaview and catching the sunrise at times was breathtaking. Food was so delicious with something different every morning and dinner. The additional free snorkel and flipper hire as well as bike and canoe make the Maafushi Maldivian experience well rounded. Will definitely be booking here again!

Spacious basic room with fan, aircond, flat screen tv, mini fridge, basic bathroom & toilet, few little spot has mold. Makeup room was done daily. View from the seaview room was quite nice (if you ignore the dumpster/ construction). All staffs are friendly with smile. Dinner buffet was good, few good choices. Breakfast was basic. Recommended to take daily breakfast or half-board if you need join excursions throughout the day or find your dinner at other restaurants or hotels. Location was great, walking distance to all attractions, local shops & supermarket. Overall this was a good choice of a 3* hotel, not 4* star yet based on our travel experience. :) Suggestions for hotel: - to have clear communications whilst booking directly via WhatsApp regarding credit card usage (+ bank fees) or USD cash payment. So guest can plan their money exchange prior departing. - clean the mold / stains in the room thoroughly. - check for bed bugs frequently. As we got attacked on the 2nd night stay.
