I came across Villa Nine, Navinda and Akinda many months ago when starting to plan my trip around Sri Lanka. From this moment, Navinda and Akinda have been completely helpful, patient, kind and warm. Receiving helpful suggestions from Navinda on the route to take, when it’s best to have a driver and when not, now I’m here in Sri Lanka I can fully vouch for everything he advised - he really is so helpful. We decided to drive from Negombo to Kandy, and then Kandy to Nany-Oya, and Akinda (Navinda’s brother) was our driver. A kind, calm, patient person, who offered suggestions when we asked for them. Akinda is not pushy at all - the opposite. A complete professional with a kind heart. I 100% recommend. Villa Nine is also just as pictured - clean, spacious, with a good view and nice breakfast.

The villa nine is called Feel Home and it is located in the heart of Kandy, just a short walk from the lake. The Villa Nine is run by a lovely family who are incredibly friendly and welcoming. The rooms are spacious and clean, and the bathrooms are well-appointed. The breakfast is delicious and freshly prepared, and the hosts are always happy to offer recommendations for things to do in the area. Here are some of the things that I loved about Feel Home: The interior of the homestay is beautifully decorated with traditional Sri Lankan furnishings. Very close to Sri Dalada Maligaya upon request they provide their home kitchen to use to prepare "puja" or toddler meals. The bathrooms are spacious and have hot water showers. The breakfast is delicious and freshly prepared. The hosts are incredibly friendly and welcoming. The homestay is located in a great location, just a short walk from the lake. Overall, I had a wonderful stay at Feel Home, and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a homestay in Kandy.

My husband and I spent the day travelling between Colombo and Nuwara Eliya with Akinda from Villa Nine Kandy driving us. It was an awesome day. Akinda was so personable, helpful, accomodating and fun. The service was impeccable and the car we travelled in was clean and really comfortable. Akinda’s local knowledge and willingness to help was really appreciated. We stopped at roadside shops that took our interest, visited a spice garden, took a tea plantation tour, visited the Damro tea estate and saw some beautiful natural sites like Ramboda waterfall. At the end of the trip Akinda sent us lots of photos he had taken for us during the day. We couldn’t have had a better introduction to Sri Lanka, thanks Akinda!
