This place has some terrific aspects; this review is very room-specific and very experience-specific, please note. Pros: Clean, quiet, very close to train station, functional, nice staff. Bijou little courtyard. Nice little suite style with sitting room refrigerator, microwave, some dishes. (Absolute minimum though; no tea/coffee/salt/sugar/etc; no kettle.) Cons: I stayed in the Josephine Baker room; there was a strange smell of burning electronics which made it hard to sleep, and you can’t open the windows because of the mosquitoes. Bedroom is up narrow spiral staircase, bathroom is down so if you have to get up in the middle of the night that’s what you’re negotiating. Other rooms seem to be better. When I noted to the staff that the room smelled and it had made sleeping tricky, they seemed sympathetic but made absolutely no accommodation, no suggestion of a recompense of any kind (for example, my husband needed extra time in his room to rest; they charged us for that.) So their hospitality is strictly limited to words. Also, and I find this kind of thing reprehensible, they ask for reviews afterward but as much as say they will only consider ratings above 9/10.

I'm glad I stayed at Villa Segur instead of at one of the chain hotels nearby. The room was cute - clean and white, with a small sitting room, kitchenette and bathroom downstairs, and large bedroom and desk up a white-painted staircase. The window opened out onto a small, well-kept courtyard with plants and a nice place to sit. No problem to arrive after 8 PM and leave again before 7 AM.

Perfect location, spotless & tastefully decorated room with all the necessities and a large walk-in shower. We had our own balcony, where breakfast was served 👌 It's located in a cute & quiet street, close to the station and at a short walk from a pretty square. Would definitely stay again.

A classic French restaurant in the heart of Bordeaux. On offer was a very reasonable set menu with wonderful options. The creme brulee and smoked salmon was wonderful, and the tartare wasn't the greatest (according to the others I was with) however it wasn't awful either. Portions were generous and they have a huge selection of wines readily on display for your choosing as you walk in.
