Andhra Pradesh's Tirupati Airport, also known as Renigunta Airport (IATA: TIR), is an international airport. It is situated in the Chittoor district of Renigunta, 14 km from Tirupati city. The foundation for the international terminal was laid in September 2010. The airport has an old terminal and a new Garuda terminal. ATM and cash machines, child care room, medical facility, smoking zone, Wi-fi, tourist information counter, car rental services, parking facility, and lost and found baggage counter are available at the terminal. You can also find a few snack bars and retail outlets to spend time while waiting for the flight.

About Tirupati

Tirupati is a city in the southern Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. This city is situated in the Palkonda hills of Tamil Nadu. The Hindu god Venkateshwara, Lord of the Seven Hills, is said to reside in Tirupati. The sacred hill of Tirumala is located in Sri Venkateshwara Sanctuary and National Park, about 10 km (6 miles) northwest of Tirupati. The temple, dedicated to Venkateshwara and set among sacred waterfalls and reservoirs, is a superb example of Dravidian art and one of India's most important pilgrimage centres. Sri Padmavathi Ammavari Temple

At a short distance from the city centre is the Sri Padmavathi Ammavari Temple, devoted to Goddess Padmavathi. According to legend, Akasha Raja of Thondamandalam spotted a small girl in a lotus blossom while performing a large yagna and ploughing the area, hence the name. A voice from above told him to love and raise the child. As she got older, she married Lord Venkateshwara. The temple is frequently visited by devotees passing through town on their spiritual quest.

Catholic Church
