About Surat Airport

Surat Airport (IATA code: STV) is located on Magdalla - Dumas Road, roughly 20 km from the city centre, towards the famed Dumas Beach. According to ICAO criteria, the new airport terminal was opened in 2009 and approved as an airfield for public use by the DGCA in 2011. Surat Airport also serves as a flight training facility.


Air India began operations in May 2007 and was the sole service provider until February 2012, when SpiceJet provided additional connectivity. The commercial success of the only Air India service and the airport's upgrade prompted SpiceJet to revive its services in March 2017. Since then, the airport has experienced extraordinary expansion, with passenger volume doubling yearly. SpiceJet added five more routes linking with Surat after restarting its service. You may use local taxis or app-based cab services to travel to and from the city.

About Surat

Surat is a city located in India's western state of Gujarat. Surat is famous for its cleanliness and is also called the Silk City, the Green City, and the Diamond City. Surat has an illustrious history dating back to 300 BC.

Sheikh ul-Alam International Airport (IATA: SXR, ICAO: VISR), also known as Srinagar Airport, is the leading international gateway to Srinagar, India's summer capital. It is located at the height of 1,655 m. The airport was reopened in 2009 after a substantial renovation that included a significant extension of the runway, the building of a new terminal, aerobridges, and the introduction of airport operating facilities. Srinagar airport was granted international status in 2005.


Srinagar International Airport has two terminals, one for local flights and the other for chartered flights to international destinations. During peak hours, the domestic terminal can handle 500 people.


Regular domestic air services from Air India, Jet Airways, IndiGo, SpiceJet, and GoAir connect Srinagar to Jammu, Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Chandigarh, and Amritsar. In addition, Srinagar has a few international flights to Dubai and Jeddah, and Air India conducts international flights from the airport.
