I stayed for 2 days there, but I would recommend you to book clafouti resort their group hotel only ,alongside the beach as that's what Varkala is for. Premises is very earthy and vintage. Good maintained hotel as it's 20+yrs. Pool is nice. Do choose category of rooms while booking for comfort and view.Staff were very kind and generous. Entry to hotel is quite challenging as we need proper guidance for roads to reach. Food was okay ,not that great but the reasons that were said was the cook was sick and on leave,so may be a temporary cook was present during my time. Breakfast was CP for me ,but it was ala carte and not buffet due to less customer maybe. Juice served was good ,but other foods were okay . Rooms were nice with cost balcony ,bathroom was clean and very hygienic. Overall I had a good stay.

This resort is a lovely place to stay relax yourself and rejuvenate...the staffs and management strive towards customer requirements. Good place and will definitely recommend this property to my friends

A Checkout Nightmare My recent experience with the hotel's checkout process was nothing short of a nightmare. After enduring a less-than-pleasant stay, I had hoped that the checkout would at least be a smooth and efficient process. Unfortunately, it turned out to be yet another disappointment. I was checking out at 4.30am in the morning and I went to front desk at 2am to inform and ask them to ready my bill. When I went at 4am the receptionist was sleeping even though I informed 2 hours earlier he has not done my checkout ready.. this is way the staff treats the guests. Despite my efforts to remain patient, the lack of organization and professionalism was disheartening. There was no warmth or courtesy in their interaction, and it felt as though they were just going through the motions. I had requested an early checkout the previous day and 2 hours before too which was confirmed by the staff then. However, during the checkout process, I was questioned about this request as if it had never been recorded. This lack of communication and attention to detail only added to the frustration of the situation. To make matters worse, there was a discrepancy in the final bill. Charges for services I had not used were included, and it took an excessive amount of time to rectify the error. The receptionist seemed clueless about how to handle the situation, further delaying my departure and leaving me feeling utterly exasperated. After all the never ending drama I barely reached the airport on time to catch my flight. Overall, the checkout experience at this hotel was a reflection of the overall lack of professionalism and attention to guest satisfaction. From the long wait times to the indifferent staff and billing errors, it was a deeply unsatisfying end to an already disappointing stay. I would strongly advise others to think twice before choosing this hotel, as even the simplest of tasks, like checking out, seem to be beyond their capabilities.

My experience in this resort was absolutely horrible one. They not only spoiled our vacation but also harassed the elderly people in our family so bad that even I hate to visit varkala again in my life.. They don't know how to respect their guests or how to behave properly. They are sitting there just to exploit the foreigners and to loot their money. The so called amenities and services provided by them were substandard and the images they are showing are not what we can see once we visit there. Please don't waste your precious time and money on this fraudsters.

We had a terrible welcoming while checkin in Akhil's beach resort. The booking was done directly by call two weeks prior to check-in date. We payed advance amount and we received the confirmation for the rooms as well. While we reached the resort there was a huge confusion over the rooms availablity, we were three families with small kids of age 1 and 2. They kept us await in the resort front desk for almost 45 minutes to talk to someone responsible. A lady came and spoke to us and claimed herself as front office manager, she had very unwelcoming attitude and didn't even apologize for the delay instead started putting the blame on us to cover their mistake and they went on with excuse that the direct booking we did was with another staff and that perticular staff has not booked it as per our requirement ( we booked for two pool view and a garden view room) She was not ready to accept that they overbooked the property but instead she started yelling on us that we did not confirm our booking by calling the reservation desk before arrival. She was so arrogant and disrespectful while speaking to us and it ruined our entire vibe. Later on the conversation got escalated and the Manager of the resort came in and addressed the issue , however we still didn't get the rooms we booked for. Management - please hire people who can speak politely to the customers.We come to resort to enjoy and spend quality time with family and friends and please don't mess up the peace and joy with such unpleasant staff's. Pros - Good food , Good Pool , Overall ambience is good. Cons - The attitude of the Management staff's. We called for room service when we spilled some water on the floor but they never attended it Bathroom rooms were broken and we couldn't lock the doors The toilet commode was broken We ordered few water to room but was never delivered Overall Rating - 2.5/10(Won't recommend)
