Airport Poddotel

There was no fridge, can hear the planes while trying to sleep. Bed was not comphy for the price. Staff dropped me at the wrong terminal and wouldn’t come pick me back up all through it was included in the price. Besides that staff was nice and aircon works

*Our stay is linked to the taxi service at Terminal 1 that scammed us. I realized that the hotel was in on the scam when the driver dropped us off and the way he made eye contact with the employee that came out to "greet" us. My wife was arguing about the fee of $50 usd for a 7-minute ride that was NOT METERED. He tried to justify the cost, showing us a photo on his phone showing flat rates from the 4 different terminals (TERM 1 - 2800) . It was obviously a picture of flat rates to a destination somewhere far because Poddotel Hotel is less than 2 minutes drive from Terminal 4, yet the flat rate listed showed [Terminal 4 - 2000 (pesos) (PHP)]. As the hotel employee opened the vehicle's door, the driver gave a nod to him, and they said nothing to each other. He didn't even address the fact that my wife was arguing the cost of the ride. He just kept quiet. That's when I told my wife to just give the driver the $50 usd. I could feel some tension from the staff because of the current events, yet not one staff member asked if they could assist in rectifying the problem. We checked in, ate complimentary breakfast, slept, and showered, with just a few complaints: • The a/c unit continued to shut off immediately. The remote was turning it on, and after a few seconds, it would turn off. This problem continued for several minutes. After cycling through the modes more than a dozen times, the wall unit began blowing cold air. Thus, another problem arose. The unit did have its single horizontal deflecting blade but didn't have ANY operable left/right deflecting fins to direct the cold air away from the bed. No matter how I adjusted the deflecting blade, it blew either: A) Directly on the bed. B) Off the opposite wall, then onto the bed. C) Off the ceiling, wall, and then bed. • The bed was uncomfortable. • Noise echoed throughout the hotel stairway, hallways, and then under our door. >>>THE ABSOLUTE KICKER!!! As we were checking out and waiting for our complimentary shuttle service to the airport, the same hotel "greeter" approached my wife with the exact same $50 bill (usd) that the driver had scammed off of us. The hotel employee said the driver wanted him to ask us to exchange it for another $50 bill because the ATM he tried to use denied it because of a small tear. My wife initially refused and told him that we were overcharged for the short ride. He said nothing when my wife asked, "Do you think it was fair for him to charge us $50?". My wife offered $20 usd instead, and the *hotel employee took it, then thought about it and took the original $50 back. What a joke. I may not be from or reside in the Philippines, but I am FILIPINO. This may be just one incident, but the fact that the entire staffs at both the taxi service and the PODDOTEL were aware and did nothing, leaves a bad taste in my mouth and a big negative about returning there anytime soon. I've learned: 1) Use GRAB instead of the taxi. *We used GRAB in Vietnam for 8 days and had NO PROBLEMS. 2) Don't let the taxi driver refer a destination. 3) Don't use Ninoy Aquino Terminal 1 Taxi!!! 4) Don't trust a hotel staff if personnel go silent in times like this.
