SCAMMERS! Robbers!! Stay away!! CREDIT CARD FRAUD- Dig deeper in reviews, you will find plenty that they charge your credit card unauthorized. 1. This place is full of dishonest people. They charged us €64 in taxes, they said it is imposed by City of Amalfi but the city doesn’t charge any tourist tax from November to February. We confirmed this on city website, check for yourself before you try to book here. 2. This place sees tourists as prey and take whatever they can from you. Charges €50 for cleaning fees but no cleaning service provided for our 3 day stay. 3. Not hot water, there was no hot water for shower for our stay. 4. No Service- Never offered to help with carrying luggage upstairs. Instead said we can book you taxi when you leave because they make commission from that. 5. MOST IMPORTANT- They act like they are helping you by booking taxi, ferries, scooters and other activities. But there is commission they get for all of this. For example: he offered to book us a ferry for €50 but when we booked on our own it was €12. He also offered us scooter for €100, when we booked we got for €60. The only nice reviews for this place are from people who don’t know prices outside and just don’t know that they have been scammed yet. Hotel itself is so far up the hill, so many folks told us on our stay that never again. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!! To those who work here to scam people, you won’t get far in life by stealing money like this.

The worst resort I have ever come across. Extremely Pathetic. If given a chance I'd give them negative ranking not even 1. They cancel your reservation without giving you any information. Moreover, they don't even receive your call/ texts. If your flight or train get delayed due to any reason you'll have to pay the cost as they just lock the hotel and leave by 6 p.m. If you reach this hotel after 6 p.m. you'll find the hotel is locked and the whole staff has gone home. We informed them in advance that our train got delayed due to which we'll reach there by 7p.m. They knew this still they locked the hotel and left. Didn't even reply to our calls/texts, we had paid them the huge amount already, still they didn't even care and left. The next day when we called them they told us that gey had cancelled our stay. Such a terrible staff without even giving us any information they cancelled our stay and fraudsters didn't even refund us. I suggest you think 10 times before considering this resort. In my lifetime this is the worst experience I've ever faced.

Made to pay €56 in cash on arrival, would not accept bank payment or provide a receipt. This charge was described as a deposit in the small print. Intimidating receptionist and very rude. He argued that €56 was for government tax. I stayed in 3 other hotels throughout my stay in Italy and was only charged €3 per night for tax. Further unexpected charges were taken from my bank, currently being investigated by the fraud team. They won't reply to emails from me or the agent. Liars and thieves.

I did not book through AHR but with a different company who owns part of the building but had a very rude encounter with the front desk receptionist from AHR who turned me away and treated me very rudely (chubby guy with glasses who doesn’t seem to know why he ended up at a job he doesn’t like or care much about - you’re in the wrong line of work, my guy). Anyway, the building actually holds a lot of historic value and is the only building in the Amalfi with a pool in a quiet location which makes it attractive towards tourist who want to book their stay here. I just don’t understand how these people run their business as they were very unprofessional with their customer service and based on other reviews, may even potentially be committing fraud. I’m hoping another owner takes over the building because these front desk people are giving this place a bad reputation and it’s sad to see a nice building with lots of potential go to waste
