Our room had sewer smell combined with perfume smell. We left the window open for hours to get rid of the smell but it was so powerful that it did not go away. Even the coffee sticks in the room smelled like perfume for some reason. We requested to change our room and got a new room which was better and less smelly than the previous room. I don’t know if there is anything the hotel can do when there is sewer smell from bathroom. The check-in lobby, cafe and restaurant look fancy but the room is not. It is small and the window is blocked by a giant pink pillar. The escalator did not work for three days while we stayed in the hotel.

As a globalist, I was given a top floor room as suites were all booked out. To say the service was terrible would be an understatement. The rooms are small with a giant pillar blocking the light from the windows. The bathrooms had a terrible sewer smell throughout our stay. Turning on the exhaust did not do much. The walls are paper thin. I could hear the conversations going on in the neighboring rooms. Even though we were on the 14th floor, we could hear the sound of traffic all night. The service is below par. The housekeeping staff did not replace any of the hand towels that they removed. The breakfast is terrible with the same items repeated every day - zero options for vegetarians. The baked goods taste like they are rejects from a bakery that was refrigerated overnight. When asked if they could make something vegetarian for us, they declined our request. However, they did make boiled vegetables the next day and passed that off as a vegetarian dish. It was flavorless and had no salt. They only include black coffee as part of the breakfast. Anything else is extra. I would not return to this hotel. It is overpriced and does not live up to the Andaz brand.

We had a fantastic 5 night stay at the CDMX Andaz. We got upgraded to a suite as a Globalist benefit and the room was large, clean, and stylish. We slept well each night and did not notice any noise from inside or outside the hotel. The hotel’s amenities are extensive. The rooftop bar and pool are cool, the bartenders serve interesting (and large) drinks and prices are reasonable for a hotel bar. The matcha cafe is good and even though there is a specific more limited menu for the globalist free breakfast, they gave us access to the full menu which was very kind. My only criticism was that service here was quite slow and at one point they forgot our coffee order altogether. Otherwise service was really good. Everyone we encountered was friendly and helpful and greeted us with a good morning or good evening. Housekeeping was also very attentive and came by twice a day to restock water. Location was unbeatable with Condesa close to everything and with great access to subways and the bike share program if you’re like us and like to get around the city in a variety of ways. We would definitely stay here again.

I had a good stay here! I haven't been to any other Andaz location so I can't speak to how it compares. At the time of writing (January '24) the place seemed very new and in good order. Record player in the room and some vinyl to go with it is kind of a cool touch. Only slight negative with the room is that it seemed a little dim. Rooftop bar is cool and has some good variety of food and drinks. On-site restaurant I only did for breakfast; there's a buffet breakfast of cold stuff, or you can do something hot made to order. Burrito norteno and arrachera tacos were both good. Location is quite convenient, right by the Chilpancingo metro station if you want to use public transport to/from the airport or through the city. Very walkable to a lot of places (and many great restaurants!) in Condesa, Roma, etc. Definitely worth a shout.
