A great stay, and centered well in the city. Love the common areas. Bathroom was clean. It’s a good hostel, no curtains in the bunks would recommend a blanket. Also it gets a little warm at night 🥵 ahaha but thats just Costa Rica in this area! I’d stay here again over the first hostel i stayed at which although nice, had a funky smell that no one did anything about to help fix 😖. OH and if you’re planning on going back to San Jose or headed to a new town book a shuttle in advance!! Bus schedules are odd! Sometimes only one bus out at 6:30 AM 🤨 staff at the hostel tried their best to help us out ended up taking a Cab! (Expensive)

We stayed in La Fortuna at the Poshpacker Hostel. We booked the deluxe room as a couple. The room was very old decorated, was dirty and had lots of termites. The lock on our door was broken the first night. After that we got a upgrade. The room was slightly bigger, but smelt terrible like molt. The staff was not really friendly. Only interested in selling you activities. I trulely do not recommend to stay here. Lots of better places in de area.

Jenny is the absolute best! She helped my friend and I plan everything we wanted to do and for a very reasonable price. She organized tours, transportation and also recommended a lot of cool things to do and see during our stay. 100% recommend!

This was the second stay in my G Adventures package and my group found it generally terrible. The girls (shared) dorm room was upwards of 32 degrees all night and only had 2 very poor desk fans attached to the ceiling. The mattresses were also moulding and you were only provided with a top sheet (so not even a proper blanket). The boys room had a wire that electrocuted them if they showered and thankfully they were able to switch rooms after that but it was equally as hot. No hot water or air conditioning. I will say there was a male worker at the front desk who my friend said was really fantastic and a great worker but otherwise if this is a consideration for your trip, either book a room with guaranteed air conditioning or skip it altogether.

Beautiful place located right on the strip, walking distance from everything. We met Danny as soon as we arrived and he took amazing care of us. He knows all the best places to eat, and where to have fun and enjoy the nightlife! Whenever you are in La Fortuna make sure you look for him, he will definitely make sure to take care of you and show you an amazing time!!
