A decent place to get your head down, nothing special but you get what you pay for. Nice comfy bed, electric heaters provided in room, needed at the time we went. Bathroom clean, did seem to have a drainage problem though 🤔 when flushing toilet but didn't cause major issues. Old building but clean enough, has a bar to chill at. Breakfast..was poor, probably one of the worst I have eaten so personally I would skip that but would stay again.

**Important: cannot pay with your phone, take a physical payment card!** Cheap and cheerful. It's an old building, so every room is different and there are lots of stairs and labyrinthine corridors to get to some rooms. Stayed here twice (twin rooms) and the rooms we got each time were quite different. Bathrooms are a bit old fashioned but functional, though the shower temperature control wouldn't shift from 'scolding' on our second visit. Breakfast starts at 8am on weekends; wifi was fine; had a nice pizza in the restaurant; staff were pleasant and helpful; good amount of parking; playground next door for kids if weather is good.

Pretty disappointing hotel, on arrival the hotel looks well maintained and modern inside however the room was pretty rotten. Dated decor, damp patch on the ceiling, very noisy at night with a big gap at the bottom of the door letting light in from the hall outside. My kettle was actually mouldy inside! The bathroom is poor the bath panel completely warped, the radiator is sat directly opposite the toilet with literally a couple of inches gap to your knees. Staff were really friendly but I certainly will find somewhere else in future.

Well worth a visit. Lots of history still present. Good size rooms. Location is very good with food outlets near by. Staff were brilliant very welcoming. Reasonable breakfast buffet served in a fab setting with the original chairs from the Chapel. Well supported by locals when we visited on a Sat there was a Christmas party and in ghe morning the same room was being used for a choir singing carols.

The staff that i interacted with were very friendly, polite and helpful! The noise from the road however was unreal, i checled multiple times to see if the window was ajar but it wasnt and the traffic seemed to never stop, still busy at 4am. Parts of the building retained some lovely classic architectural features and the fish and chips I had was very nice. The room however felt grubby and dated.
