The great asset of this hotel is location, which provides easy access to multiple public transport lines. It is also in a walkable distance from Hyde Park. All in all is a fair value for the money the hotel and the room is mostly clean, mostly in a good state. The problem is that the are cases in which things could definitely be better with no special cost or effort. The most annoying problem is that the bathroom drains are clogged up and begin to smell as soon the water is used, to the point you need to ventilate the room to make it bearable. This should be an easy fix with great impact on the quality of the staying. The staff is friendly and always present on the premises. You can leave the baggage there after check-out for a 5 pounds per bag fee. In the rooms it gets very warm, there is no other way of adjusting the temperature other than using the window to get cold air in. The walls are thin and elastic you can hear clearly other guests getting in their rooms and walking by. You can even feel the subway getting by.

Stayed at this hotel last night & booked it despite the bad reviews! I wasn’t expecting anything nice so when I walked in I was pleasantly surprised! Extremely clean bedroom with & warm and comfy bed, decently sized bathroom and provided shower gel & shampoo! Sure it’s not a 5* hotel, but for a one night stay it was pretty amazing. I came to london for one night so I booked the cheapest hotel that I could find. It is just a two minute walk from Paddington station which is extremely convenient because I was headed towards Hyde Park Winter Wonderland and Piccadilly Circus! Lots of shops and takeaway places about. It’s a hidden little gem in London! As for the £50 deposit, I was refunded a few hours after I left and it was back in my bank account straight away. If you weren’t refunded that sounds like a fault of your own; not the companies. I would definitely recommend this place if you’re just staying in London for a few nights and I will be back in the future.

DO NOT MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE AS US AND BOOK THIS HOTEL!! We are a group of girls going to London together for the first time. We book this hotel, only to unfortunately find out that they have bedbugs. We immediately contact the hotel to get our money back as we do not want to stay at a hotel that has had bedbugs multiple times. Initially, we are told that we can get a refund since we have contacted them within 24-48 hours, but we are instructed to call the next day when the manager is on duty. When we call the next day, they simply refuse to refund our money. It is simply not acceptable to deny people their money, especially knowing that the hotel has a bedbug problem. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND AVOID BOOKING THIS HOTEL!

Stayed here for two nights. I chose it because of its location as I can't walk far. Its a stones throw from Paddington Station. It's probably this Hotel's biggest Asset. Everything worked as described online but the entrance can get a little congested. It's OK , good London value but wouldn't take my partner there , would have to dig deeper in my wallet. Don't use the room safe. Everybody knows how to reset and open it.

AVOID THIS HOTEL AT ALL COSTS. We are four girls who booked a room at Ascot Hotel. Shortly after our reservation, we discovered the hotel has a bed bug infestation. Upon reaching out to them for a refund, initially, they assured us it was possible as our reservation was less than 24 hours old. However, when we contacted them the next day, they abruptly denied the refund, stating it was impossible. To make matters worse, they blatantly lied about being unaware of the issue, despite several customers uploading pictures of bed bugs and their bites! Save yourselves the trouble and stay far away from Ascot Hotel.
