Stop looking at reviews, just book this hotel already. It is impossible to overstate how beautiful the views are from this hotel and how incredible the experience was. From the moment we arrived, Vangelis the owner made us feel welcome and was able to answer every question we had, arranging a Caldera cruise on the spot for us and giving us some great tips to make our stay at Santorini unforgettable. The rooms were lovely, the staff extremely friendly and the breakfast on our terrace a genuine highlight each morning, with views like these it's easy to see why. The hotel's communication was excellent. We can't wait to come back.

I hope you read this before booking, so you know what to expect. My wife and I booked a room here and were very excited when we got to Santorini after visiting couple other islands. Upon arrival at the hotel, we noticed how nice the view was from outside of the room. Entered in the room and noticed right away how small it was, bathroom was very dingy with very dark color tiles and dim lighting and had a strange smell that we couldn't put our finger on what it smelled like. I went out and bought a candle, because we could not stand how bad the smell was in the bedroom even after closing the bathroom door. After taking the first shower there, we released what was the issue - shower doors did not fully close (issue with the door) and water pooled outside the shower on the floor. It seemed that has been an issue for quite some time, we realized the smell was mold. Also worth noting about hot water - you have to flip a switch on the electrical panel and wait for 20 minutes for hot water to come, which lasted a fast 5 minute shower before cold again. Next morning we notified the staff (had to wait till next morning because the staff leaves the hotel by 9:00pm local time) of the issue and they came in the room to check out the issue with the door, the housekeeping person smelled the bathroom and coughed her way out the room. They said they will try to fix it and did not know what mold was. We asked that they move us to a different room and fix the issue on their own time and we do not want to breath in the mold which can cause health issues. Manager at the location was not very professional or understanding and argumentative about the issue and labeled it as exaggeration. When we finally asked the reservation to be cancelled and issue a refund, he offered to move us to a different room in 2-3 days (maybe) which was our last day there. I decided that this is not going anywhere and we needed to save our trip before this insensitive manager ruins it. I told him to cancel while I pack. My wife went to a hotel nearby named Aqua Luxury Suites and booked a room there for remaining of our nights. Suite consisted of 3 floors with roof with day bed for sunbathing, ground with a small pool and living space in/outdoor with a powder room, lower floor had the bedroom with a full bathroom. Staff was very professional and provided excellent service. Summary of Avianto: View - excellent Room - small and dated decor Bathroom - small, dingy and dated (pictures below are taken with a good camera and display more light than the dark bathroom actually has) Service - poor and unprofessional Breakfast included - overall oily and fruit seemed passed ripe stage Overall - this place considers itself as luxury and priced it such, and let me assure you, it is not luxury in any shape or form. Book - if you only care for the view and can afford it Look elsewhere - if you love yourself
