Me and my friend checked in on the 11th of December, as soon as we arrived we are greeted by a lovely lady who tells us our room has been upgraded from comfort to deluxe. The service was excellent and we had no issues with any of the staff. Our favorite manager was Lucas, such a nice man and we had many great talks together at the bar. The location of this hotel is about 15 minute walk from the metro station, but you can also take a bus closer by. The food at the hotel is also not bad and decent for the price. Lovely hotel and Stephanie the manager has been fantastic! Rooms are smaller but have all you need and are comfortable. I highly rate the breakfast, and the made to order omelettes were a lovely addition! 😃 Breakfast has great options for GLUTEN FREE - bacon, omelettes, meats, cheeses, yoghurts, and have gluten free buns and bread! There’s a metro a 10 min walk from here which takes you directly into the heart of Amsterdam. A lovely stay. Only reason I put 4 stars for service is because whereas they day staff were incredible, the night guy was on his phone the entire time and didn’t say a single word to us the entire stay.

It's only a 20 minute walk to The Kromthoul so this hotel is well located for that. The food is good. It is varied, cooked fresh and tastes nice. I can also personally the Juliper beer 🍻🍺! I thought breakfasts were very good. I can see some people have reviewed harshly - it is a continental style breakfast with some hot accompanying foods like small sausages, bit of bacon and boiled eggs. Staff will also cook a fresh omelette if requested. Coffee was particularly nice I thought too. Staff were fantastic, all friendly and helpful. Special shout out to the manager Stephanie who did her best to help me with my charging problems with my UK travel adapter. Above and beyond expected help and service Room was clean and tidy and bed very comfortable offering a good night's sleep. Handy after the 🍻 😀

The hotel manager chooses to not be client-friendly. I asked for a cancellation of the second night of my planned stay at 9a.m. that day. Despite the flexdeal I booked, cancellation was not possible. The room was not well-cleaned and full of cigarette smoke. I could not stay another night and will not choose a Bastion Hotel ever again nor recommend it after this unpleasant experience.
